Registration Information

Kirsten Berg

Hi everyone,

Thank you to families for registering your returning and new swimmers through our club website. Our registration is a two step process, and registering with our club is Step 1.

Step 2 involves registering with Swimming Canada. We are providing a “heads up” that you will receive system-generated emails from SportLomo (on behalf of Swimming Canada) to finalize your swimmer’s registration this week.

The final steps of registering with the swim club includes completing the following mandatory steps in Swimming Canada’s Registration and Event Management System (REMS):

  1. Confirmation of primary contact and personal information
  2. Signing the Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risks Form
  3. Agreement to comply to the Swimming Canada Privacy PolicySwimming Canada Code of Conduct and abide by all other Swimming Canada Policies and Swim Alberta Policies
  4. Indication of your preference to receive emails of a commercial nature
  5. Confirmation of Canadian citizenship status

Please note that it is only upon completing the above steps in the REMS that your swimmer(s) are considered officially registered and a member of Yellowknife Polar Bear Swim Club. This final registration process must be completed before entries into a swim meet can be submitted and accepted.

As the REMS is a brand new system, we want to thank you all in advance for your patience as we work through this final step. We have developed some guidance to support you which we hope will be helpful – see attached guide. If you are having issues with REMS and the final registration steps, please reach out to our club registrars, JF Dufour or Andrea Kirby, at [email protected]. One or both are usually on deck at most practices (Mon, Wed, Fri) from ~4:30-5:30 in the eating area. They will have their laptops with them and be ready to help out for the next couple of weeks.

Thanks everyone!
