50/50 Tickets are here! Major fundraising opportunity

We are excited to announce that we can now start selling Yellowknife Polar Bear Swim Club 50/50 tickets! This is one of the club’s major fundraisers for the club and we are looking to sell out tickets. There’s a chance to win $12,500.

Remy will be distributing ticket books tonight, January 22nd, at the pool.   If you can’t make it, you can contact Remy to arrange a pick-up from him.  867-444-9680.

Half the proceeds from each $5 ticket will go to the 50/50 winner. Of the remaining $2.50, $1.50 will go towards the club and $1 will go towards your fundraising quota (or if you've already met that, into your swimmer's travel fund). In other words, each book of 50 tickets will net $250 in cash, with $125 for the winner, $75 for the club and $50 for you. Please bring all of the proceeds to Remy and the club will credit your fundraising account. 

The draw will take place May 10 at the pool.

We have just over 3 months to sell tickets and the sooner we start, the better.

Help Needed

We are aiming to get tables at various establishments around town in the coming months where people can sell their tickets. We’re looking for someone to organize the tables and the scheduling of parents at the tables.  Please contact Angie at 867-444-1231 if you are willing to help out with this.

Our first 50/50 ticket selling table is arranged for Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Coop.  Please contact Angie with the times you’re available to sell on this day and she’ll schedule you in. 

Whether or not Feb 1 works for you, please let Angie know which weekends in the next 3 months you’re available to sell tickets to get an idea of how many tables we should be booking.  We’ll approach various retail outlets around town to see about setting up a table.

You can accept cash, e-transfer and payments by tap on your phone by downloading the Square App.  Make sure to check the compatibility of your phone with the App first.  This method takes a percentage of the sale.
