Good evening - we have some exciting news to share!
Interim Swim Schedule (April 14-30th)
Today the coaches met with the City staff for a tour of the new Aquatic Centre (it is spectacular)! We know many swimmers and parents have been wondering what the transition between the current facility to the new facility will look like. Our conversation with the City staff went well and the City will be allowing the Swim Club to use the current facility, RIMP, at reduced times - but we don’t have to stop swimming! This is exciting news for all of us. The City has been very accommodating and have been a pleasure to work with and meaningful discussions were had.
Below is the schedule for the next few weeks:
The Board and Coaches are working closely with the City on what will be happening after May 3, 2025. There will be more information coming forward once we have confirmation from the City on what swim times are available and what the schedule will look like and potentially when the new facility will be open.
For the Dolphins 1, 2, 3 and the Tadpoles group, there will be no swimming next week as we are short coaches and safety of the swimmers is paramount. We are sorry for this inconvenience and hope that you will understand.
Tadpoles will be moved to Wednesdays as there is no pool time available on Fridays. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Peace River Meet - Coach Info
To those travelling for the Peace River meet, we will be swimming under Hay River. Their coach is Julie and her email address is:
Reminder - Information Session tomorrow
The Board is pleased to advise that we will be having an information session next Wednesday for parents. We will be focusing primarily on the remainder of this swim season, but welcome discussion about moving forward into next year.
When: Wednesday, April 9th @7:30pm
Where: Northern United Place auditorium
The Club needs more volunteers – so if you’re interested in getting involved in coaching, the Board, or in another volunteer capacity, this will be a great opportunity to meet folks and ask questions.
Fundraising Opportunities
May 9th Bingo
We’re looking for up to 10 volunteers to work the May 9th Bingo!
There are two shifts: 4:30-7:30pm and 7-10pm, and you can sign up for one or both. For each shift you work, you get $100 towards your fundraising quote/bank. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

50/50 Tickets
There are lots of slots to sign up for. You can sign up by adding your name/number here: YKPBSC 50/50 table dates
We are looking for a parent that can take on the coordination role for the 50/50 tickets (e.g. managing the tracking sheets, collecting ticket books, etc.). If you are interested, please email Kirsten or let us know at next week’s information session.
