Fundraising Opportunities; Hay River Meet; Calendar Changes

Hi swim families,

Fundraising Opportunity – November 7th Bingo

We have an opportunity to run bingo at Tree of Peace for Friday, November 7th if we can get enough volunteers by this Thursday.

  • We are looking for volunteers for the 4:30-7:30pm and 7-10pm shifts (5 people per shift). 
  • Anyone 16 years and up can help. 
  • We need up to 10 volunteers. 
  • Each shift earns $100 to your fundraising quota/bank.

We’ll decide if we can run the bingo on Thursday based on if we have enough volunteers, so please connect with Angie ASAP (sorry for the short notice!)

Pumpkin Lane - November 1st & 2nd

We are still looking for fundraising volunteers on Nov 1st and 2nd to light pumpkins on Pumpkin Lane (Somba Ke park by City Hall).

Hay River Swim Meet – November 29 & 30

Note: there is now a spot for carpool seats available if any families have extra room in their cars. We have a few athletes who are hoping to catch a ride.

We are still looking to confirm volunteer support for chaperones / the meal train at the school if anyone is keen (scroll to the right on the Google sheet).

Winter Try-Outs (new swimmers)

We are hosting a round of tryouts on November 22nd for new swimmers. Athletes assessed at these tryouts will be offered a group placement (space allowing) for the start of our winter session on January 5th. 

We’re asking you to share this info with friends and family in the community who might be keen to give competitive swimming a try!

Calendar Changes & Schedule Updates

We have a few notable changes we’d like to share and apologies or any inconvenience.

  • November FNATR - Moved to Friday, Nov 21st
  • Polar Pup Invitational (Meet for Dolphins, Belugas, Sharks) – Saturday, Dec 13th (2 sessions, morning / evening)
  • Territorials - February 21-22
  • Feburayr FNATR – Friday, Feb 27th has been changed to a JUNIOR FNATR for Dolphins, Belugas and Sharks.
  • Splash-A-Thon - Moved to April 10th (Dolphins, Belugas, Sharks, Cubs) and April 11th (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

And a reminder that there's no swimming for Cubs and below this Friday/Saturday due to Halloween!
