A Legacy of Excellence Since 1959

Founded in 1959 by legendary coach Robert Trotman, Nu Finmen Swimming has spent more than six decades developing champions in the pool and in life. Coach Trotman’s mission was simple yet powerful: provide opportunity, discipline, and mentorship to young swimmers from all backgrounds, while building a culture rooted in excellence, confidence, and community. Under his leadership, Nu Finmen grew from its Brooklyn beginnings into one of the most respected competitive swim programs in the region, earning recognition at the county, regional and national levels. As a longtime elite member of USA Swimming, the team has produced Junior Olympic Champions, All-County and All-State athletes, NCAA All-Americans, and more than 40 Nassau County Championships.
Today, Nu Finmen Swimming is proudly led by his daughter, Head Coach Jennifer Trotman.
Coach Jenn continues her father’s legacy alongside an accomplished coaching staff—each an
alumnus of the program. United by shared experience and passion, the Nu Finmen coaching team remains committed to developing competitive swimmers while shaping confident, disciplined leaders for life.
