Force Aquatics offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages (7 to 18) and ability levels (novice to national). It is our goal to offer age specific training geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

*** Please note that evaluations are done twice per year,  late March/early April and late July, prior to each season.

 

Pre- Competitive 

Lead Coach: Kylie Baker

This group is an opportunity to work on the competitive strokes and skills needed for entry into our Maroon group. This group meets twice per week for one hour. Swimmers must be able to swim 1 length of the pool unassisted, demonstrate proper breathing technique for freestyle, be able to float and kick on back for 1 length of the pool, and have begun working on the dive progression. As with our competitive groups, evaluations for this group are twice per year (late July, late March/early April). Membership in this group does not guarantee placement into one of our competitive training groups. Typical age range for this group is 7-9 years old.

Maroon (formerly Maroon & Silver)

Lead Coach: Kylie Baker

Our entry level competitive training group. Swimmers must have a good grasp on both freestyle and backstroke, basic understanding of proper breaststroke, and be able to dive off the side of the pool. This group meets three times per week for 60 min per practice. Monthly fees are billed through our Team Unify platform.  As our base level competitive group, swimmers are expected to attend meets. A USA Swimming annual membership of $84 is required for group members upon registration.Please see our practice schedule for dates and times. Consistent attendance is recommended for steady improvement. Typical age range for this group is 8-10 year old.

Force Prime

Lead Coach:  Liz Eng

This group is the next level progression from our Maroon group. Force Prime practices 3x a week. The core skills of all four strokes are taught in addition to starts and turns. Members are expected to participate in both developmental meets and those on our schedule. Members of this group must be registered for a full season with USA Swimming. Please see our practice schedule for dates and times. Consistent attendance is recommended for steady improvement. Typical age range for this group is 9-11 years old.

Force Bronze (formerly Force 1)

Lead Coach: Eric Gerlach

Swimmers new to the team and placed in this training group must have prior competitive swimming experience. This group practices 3 days per week. Competency in all 4 strokes is expected. The ability to perform starts (off the starting block) and as well as proficiency in all types of turns is required. There is a strong emphasis on technique as well as beginning aerobic endurance training. Members are expected to attend meets on our team's schedule. Members are required to attend the highest level championship meet they qualify for at the end of each season. Please see our practice schedule for dates and times. Consistent attendance is recommended for steady improvement. Typical age range for this group is 9-12 years old.

Force Silver (formerly Force 2)

Lead Coach: Amy Saribalas

This group practices 4 times per week for 2 hours. Dryland training sessions 3 times per week (45 min) either prior to or after water practice. Meet participation is expected and swimmers are required to attend the highest level championship meet they qualify for. The focus of this group is preparing athletes to progress into either our Senior group or Force Gold training groups. Technique, aerobic endurance, race preparation, and nutrition are important components of this training group. Please see our practice schedule for dates and times. Consistent attendance is recommended for steady improvement and there is a policy in place for this training group. Typical age range for this group is ages 12-14.

Senior Group (formerly Force 2+)

Lead Coach: Amy San Filippo

This group practices 4 times per week for 2 hours. It is designed for those training on the upper level of our Force Silver group and is exclusively for high school age swimmers. This group is an excellent choice for those athletes who also wish to compete on their respective high school teams. Dryland training is 3 sessions per week for 45 min per session. There is an option to do dryland training in the mornings. Meet participation is expected and swimmers are required to attend the highest level championship meet they qualify for. Technique, aerobic endurance, race preparation, and nutrition are important components of this training group. Please see our practice schedule for dates and times. Consistent attendance is recommended for steady improvement and there is a policy in place for this training group. Typical age range for this group is high school.

Force Gold (formerly Force 3)

Lead Coach: Amy Saribalas

This is our highest level training group which practices 5 days a week plus 3 dryland sessions. There is an option of a 6th practice on Saturday mornings for those wishing to focus on distance. There is an option to do morning dryland sessions in place of evening. Members are committed to training and competing at the highest level of their ability. Attendance at the majority of meets on our schedule and at the highest level championship meet qualified for is expected. Please see our practice schedule for dates and times. It is implied that membership to this group entails consistent attendance and few absences in order to perform at the level desired. There is an attendance policy in place for this training group.
