KMSC senior swimmers Will Frazier and Ryan Healy were recently invited to attend two of USA Swimming's select camps. Frazier was selected to attend the National Diversity Select Camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. USA Swimming invites 48 athletes ages 14-16 to this camp each year. Swimmers must meet the minimum time standards and represent an ethically underrepresented population that is less than 10% of the current USA Swimming membership to qualify. KMSC swimmers, parents, and coaches came together Sunday to celebrate the team’s accomplishments the past two seasons and to recognize the graduating seniors at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. The graduating class of 2019 (pictured above) incudes eight athletes. The seniors each shared a slideshow and gave a speech recounting favorite memories and giving thanks to parents, coaches and teammates. King Marlin Swim Club earned the top spot at the recent 2019 Short-Course Oklahoma Swimming Championships in Jenks. KMSC’s athletes combined to score 1,423 points, 300 more than second-place Jenks. In the men’s overall team score, KMSC scored 772 points for first place. In the women’s overall team score, KMSC raced up 651 points to finish first. The team saw impressive performances across all age groups, leading to 12 individual high-point award winners. King Marlin Swim Club athletes broke eight state records and the team secured its 9th straight state championship during the 2018 long-course season this summer, the area club announced. Congratulations to national swimmer Rylee Linhardt for being selected to USA Swimming’s 2013-14 Scholastic All-America Team. To qualify for this award, a swimmer must earn a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year and achieve a Junior National bonus qualifying time during the qualifying period. Linhardt joins six other swimmers from Oklahoma area teams to receive this recognition, which was awarded to nearly 1,800 swimmers nationwide.
