KMSC families with Senior & Senior development swimmers: Saturday practices are quickly approaching as the coaches move into a full practice schedule. The first Saturday is scheduled for Oct. 4. Many parents would like to continue the tradition of offering breakfast or snacks after the Saturday morning workouts. We believe this is an opportunity to build a stronger team bond, give our kids a social outlet after practice, and also recognize that our swimmers' appetites are raging after a hard Saturday morning practice. They need to refuel! However, we want...

If you or your swimmer experiences muscle cramps during practice, read this article from USA Swimming on what the potential causes are and whether nutrition can help prevent them. (Hint: Good hydration and salt intake are two keys!)

This event is often regarded as a world-class triathlon and its organizers and the city take pride in this well-known event. KMSC will be able to show our support for the community, and we can cheer on many of our parents and friends who participate in...

KMSC finished the long-course (summer) season in grand fashion, culminating with the Oklahoma Swimming Long Course Age Group Championship title. Now, September marks the beginning of the short-course season, when swimmers return competing in a 25-yard (or 25-meter) pool instead of the Olympic 50-meter pool....

USA Swimming's executive director Chuck Wielgus attended the Phillips 66 Swimming National Championships in Irivine, Calif., earlier this month. In his latest blog post for USA Swimming, he talks about familiar legends of the past and where they are now.  "I saw many other alums at this year’s National Championships," Wielgus writes, "and I was reminded once again just how extraordinary swimmers are. There’s something about the sport that it helps forge young athletes into thoughtful adults who have so much to contribute to society." Read more from the blog...
