Lifetime + OHA Parent Drop-Off Procedures:
Life Time management has asked that we pass along the following information from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) regarding children and pools.
The Oregon Health Authority requires that all children under the age of 14 must have responsible adult supervision anytime they are on the pool deck.
This means that swimmers 13&Unders cannot be on the pool deck without a supervising adult at times when they are not actively participating in swim practice. During swim practice, coaches are designated as appropriate adult supervision. Parents are welcome to enjoy other club amenities during the actual practice and do not need to stay on the pool deck. However, they must come to pick-up their swimmer from the pool practice. If swimmers that are 13&U come early or stay after practice to play in the leisure pool they must be supervised by an adult that is not a Life Time staff member.
Summer Swim:
We will be transitioning to our summer schedule on June 3rd. Practice times still need to be approved by upper management but they should remain fairly consistent with current schedules.
USA swimmers will continue to practice with their assigned USA team group until Friday, August 9th or whenever the last USA meet of the summer season is scheduled for. Swimmers will then have a short break until early September. This break is recommended by USA swimming to prevent overtraining and burnout. All USA swimmers will receive a complimentary private lesson in August to work on a skill of their choice.
Developmental team members will automatically be transferred over to our summer swim team. The main differences between the summer swim team and the developmental team will be that swimmers are encouraged to come to as many practices as possible. We also will hold more frequent competitions.
More information regarding summer swim will be available soon!
Quick Reminders
-
Dryland + Meetings before practices
We are hoping to implement short dryland and meeting routines before practices. Dryland is a term that is used in competitive swimming for any physical activity used to complement training outside of the water. This can include stretching, basic body weight exercises and team building activities. As swimmers advance in the sport dryland practices become more frequent. For now, we are asking that developmental swimmers arrive at 4:20 for dryland and that USA swimmers arrive at 5:05 for dryland on a nightly basis.
