Life Time Oregon Swim Team Weekly Update: 6.24.24

Danny Weinberg

Good Morning,

I will be out of town until Saturday, 6/29, so this week’s update is a bit on the shorter side.  While I’m gone Coach Julie will be handling the day to day operations of the swim team.  Please reach out to Julie ([email protected]) if you have any questions.

Additionally, we are excited to have Coach Damaris and Coach Kaythlin assisting with the swim team this week.  Many of you took lessons with Damaris and Kaythlin at some point in the past!

Summer Swim Meet Recap:

We hope that all swimmers and families had a blast at our first summer swim meet!  We were so proud of all our swimmers. A big thank you goes out to all of our parents who volunteered at the meet.  We couldn’t have done it without you!  I will send a more detailed update when I return, but I wanted to let you know that complete results can be found on the SwimminglyFan, Swimmingly Clubhouse and Team Unify website.

Quick Items/ Reminders:

  • Practice Attendance: With the summer season underway, swimmers on the summer swim team or the USA team can attend as many practices as they like. We encourage you to try and get your swimmer to practice 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time. While it can be challenging for those early times, arriving early allows us to have a brief meeting and review skills to prepare the swimmers for practice. Here is our SUMMER PRACTICE SCHEDULE.

  • Friday AM Practice- USA Team: Starting on Friday, 6.21, USA team members will be offered an additional practice in the outdoor lap pool.  This practice will run from 8:30-9:45 AM (Bronze) and 8:30-10:00 AM (Silver).  We hope that many of you can attend.

  • Drop-Off Procedures: According to Life Time management and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), all children under 14 must have adult supervision on the pool deck unless they are participating in swim practice. Swimmers 13 and under must be supervised by an adult outside of practice times if they stay on the deck. Swimmers who are 13&U are not permitted to play in the leisure pools before or after practice if they are not being supervised by an adult.

  • USA Team: Please order a snorkel and fins if you haven't yet. These are available under the "Team Apparel and Equipment" tab on our website. Please make sure to mark your snorkel with a piece of duct tape or your name. Also make sure you start bringing a water bottle to practice!
