Twenty-six of our swimmers dove into action at our second summer swim meet on Friday, July 12th! It was a blast watching our swimmers tackle new events and make incredible progress from our previous meet. A special congratulations to those who competed in their very first meet: Onyu Kwak, Niki Shahbeigi, Lola Southard, Clark York, and Dash York!
Hats off to our top 3 biggest time drops (This only includes developmental meet results and does not take USA meets into account):

-
Madilynn Wiggins: A dazzling 11.4-second improvement in the 25 Back (23.4%)

Albany Aquatics Last Chance Invite
Simon Boariu and Bella Jones traveled to Albany on Saturday night to swim a few long course races! And wow, it did not disappoint.
Bella Jones swam the 50 Back, 200 Back, and 100 Free, looking strong in all three races! Simon Boariu used the meet as a tune-up for the upcoming 11&O state meet and crushed a new best time in the 100 Fly with solid swims in the 200 Back and 100 Free.
Great job, Simon and Bella!
Oregon 10&U LC State Championships
A massive congratulations to the following swimmers who represented Life Time at the Oregon 10&U State Championships. Sending five swimmers to this meet in our first year is a huge accomplishment!
All of our swimmers competed fiercely, brought great energy, and gained valuable experience. Here are some of the highlights:
-
Isabella Da Cruz: A huge 15-second time drop in the 100 Back and a strong 50 Back! Izzy’s 50 Back moved her up 22 spots from her original ranking in the meet!
-
Adam Kao: Our youngest swimmer in the meet, Adam raced to three new best times in all of his events, highlighted by a 15-second time drop in the 100 Free!
-
Dylan Mason: Dylan brought amazing energy throughout the weekend, even showing up early on Sunday to support his teammates. He had three strong swims, highlighted by a 5-second time drop in the 100 Back!
-
Patrick Schremer: Patrick had a busy weekend competing in a maximum of six races! He was our team’s top point scorer, earning points in the 100 Breast (4th), 100 Back (11th), 200 Free (8th), 50 Breast (9th), and 50 Free (9th). Patrick’s 100 Breaststroke stood out as he dropped over 15 seconds!
-
Elowyn Thomas: Elowyn swam two exciting races, dominating her heat in the 50 Fly and 50 Free, both with huge time drops! She moved up from 18th to 8th in the 50 Fly to earn points in the event!
This was such a fun weekend, and the coaching staff is incredibly proud of you all. Most of these swimmers had virtually no competitive swimming experience before Life Time opened its doors in June of 2023. This definitely shows what is possible within a year's time! We are excited to bring even more swimmers to this meet in the summer of 2025!
Quick Items/ Reminders:
-
Practice Attendance: With the summer season in full swing, we're thrilled to see our swimmers on both the summer swim team and the USA team diving into as many practices as they like! To make the most of each session, we encourage you to bring your swimmer to practice 5-10 minutes early. While those early times can be a bit tough, arriving a little ahead of schedule gives us a chance to have a fun meeting and review skills, setting up our swimmers for an awesome practice. Let's make the most of this summer and enjoy every moment in the pool! Here is our SUMMER PRACTICE SCHEDULE.
-
Tuesday AM Practices- USA Team: Since, we will have a swim coach on deck at this time we are allowing USA swimmers to come and complete a make-up practice at this time from 10:00–11:00 AM. These swimmers will mostly be on their own but will be provided a lane and workout in the indoor lap pool. We recommend that USA team members try to attend evening practices, but this is an option to get another practice if some evening times are not possible. USA swimmers must email Coach Danny prior to the practice if they are planning to attend Tuesday and Thursday morning sessions.
-
Drop-Off Procedures: According to Life Time management and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), all children under 14 must have adult supervision on the pool deck unless they are participating in swim practice. Swimmers 13 and under must be supervised by an adult outside of practice times if they stay on the deck. Swimmers who are 13&U are not permitted to play in the leisure pools before or after practice if they are not being supervised by an adult.
-
USA Team: Please order a snorkel and fins if you haven't yet. These are available under the "Team Apparel and Equipment" tab on our website. Please make sure to mark your snorkel with a piece of duct tape or your name. Also make sure you start bringing a water bottle to practice!
