Life Time Oregon Swim Team Weekly Update: 7.22.24
Hello Swim Team!
We can’t believe there are only three weeks left in our incredible summer swim season! We’re pumped for an amazing final stretch! Let’s keep the energy high, show up to practice, and have a blast in the water!
Meet Recaps!
2024 Oregon 11&O Long Course State Championships in Gresham, OR.
Congratulations to Simon Boariu who represented Life Time at the annual 11&O Long Course State Championships in Gresham, OR.
Huge congratulations to Simon Boariu for representing Life Time with excellence at the annual 11&O Long Course State Championships in Gresham, OR!
Simon crushed it in 6 events, setting 5 new personal bests! He had massive time drops in the 200 IM (-7.3 seconds), 100 Fly (-6.3 seconds), and 100 Breast (-7.4 seconds). Simon rocked the finals in the 200 IM and 50 Fly, finishing 7th and 4th, respectively. What an achievement!
This wasn’t even a meet we had on our radar last summer when the team first started. Simon’s dedication and hard work over the past year truly paid off. We’re so proud and excited to see more swimmers joining Simon at this meet next summer! We’re on an awesome path forward!
End of Season + Tentative Fall Practice Times
As our spectacular summer season comes to a close after our final swim meet on August 9th, our swimmers will take a well-deserved short break before diving back in for our fall season starting on Wednesday, September 4th. We’re thrilled to see all our summer swimmers continue their journey with either our developmental team or USA team in the fall!
We’re working hard to keep our practice times consistent, but with our team growing stronger and bigger, we might need to make slight adjustments each year to accommodate our rising number of athletes. Check out the link to our tentative fall schedule below.
TENTATIVE FALL PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Get to know the specific training groups we offer by checking out our group descriptions here:
Life Time Swim Team Oregon Group Descriptions
We’re currently finalizing fall group placements. Most swimmers will stay in their current groups, with our 8&U summer swim team members coached by Coach Danny moving to Development 1, and our 9&O summer swim team members coached by Coach Julie moving to Development 2.
We’ll be reaching out to swimmers receiving group promotions before the summer season wraps up on August 9th. Remember, while group descriptions outline the “requirements” for each level, all placement decisions are ultimately at the discretion of our coaching staff.
Let’s keep the momentum and excitement going as we transition into an incredible fall season!
