Welcome to the Fall Swim Season!

Danny Weinberg

Hi everyone!

We’re thrilled to have you join us for the upcoming swim season! All practice groups will start on Wednesday, September 4th — can’t wait to see everyone back in action! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️ You can also find our Practice Schedule on our website to help you get ready!

This email has everything you need to know for a smooth transition into our fall season, so let's dive in! 🐬

Meet Your Training Groups

We have some amazing training groups lined up for the fall! 🎉 You can find more details about our Training Groups on our website, but here’s a quick overview. Each group has a dedicated coach who will be your go-to person for any questions about your swimmer’s progress. For general questions like meet sign-ups or billing, feel free to reach out to me, Coach Danny!

Don’t forget to check out the required gear list for each group! You can find these items in our Team Store or grab them from any other vendor (Amazon might get them to you quicker!).

    • We are permitting our Development Team swimmers to attend a 3rd day of practice per week if they choose. There is no extra cost and swimmers can simoly show up at their assigned practice time. I do want to be transparent that for development 1 our Tuesdays and Thursdays are a lot lighter in terms of attendance than Mondays and Wednesdays. If any M/W swimmers would like to permanently switch to T/TH please contact me!

Suit Up! 🩱🩳

For our USA team swimmers (Bronze, Silver, Gold), please make sure to have a suit designed for competitive swimming:

  • Girls: A one-piece competition suit.

  • Boys: Jammer or brief.

We encourage all our developmental swimmers to wear these suits too, but we understand it might be a new experience for some of our athletes and is not a hard requirement.  Rash guard shirts do affect swimming efficiency so we try to transition those out in the first few weeks if possible.

For USA competitions, we have a special team suit that looks fantastic in the water! 🌊 Since these suits are embroidered, they’re non-refundable, but don’t worry — we have a sizing kit at the pool to help you find the perfect fit! Just contact Coach Julie or me to set up a time to try one on.

All swimmers should have a couple of pairs of goggles on hand (we recommend avoiding large scuba masks). And for those with longer hair, a swim cap is highly recommended! Each swimmer gets a free latex cap, and we have silicone caps available for purchase if you prefer.

Practice Makes Perfect!

The full practice schedule is linked above and available on our website. We ask that all swimmers arrive 10 minutes early to get ready with some stretching, team building, dryland exercises, or quick updates before hopping in the pool!

Drop-Off Info 🚗

According to Life Time and Oregon Health Authority guidelines, all children under 14 need adult supervision on the pool deck unless they’re in practice. Swimmers aged 13 and under should be supervised outside practice times and aren’t allowed in leisure pools before or after practice unless an adult is present. Our coaches will take care of your child starting 10 minutes before practice until the end.

Billing and Additional Fees 💰

If you’re reading this, your monthly swim team fee will be billed on September 1st. For those who register later, your fee for September will be charged at the time of registration, and then on the first of each following month.

There’s also a one-time annual $60 admin fee that will be billed on October 1st. This fee covers all the fun extras like caps, t-shirts, additional gear, and prizes for our swim meets. 🎉

If you’re part of the USA swim team, there will be additional costs for meet entries. These fees vary by meet, and you can find all the details on the specific meet page. Your Life Time account will be billed about 7-10 days before each meet that your are registered.

USA Swimming Registration (USA Team Only) 🏅

All swimmers in the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Groups need to register or re-register with USA Swimming to join practices. Don’t worry if you’re a returning member — you’re covered through 2024, but we would still love to have you register for 2025 in the fall so that there are no lapses.  After September 1st, I’ll send a link to complete your registration or re-registration for 2025. Please be sure to complete this promptly to keep your swimmer ready to dive in!

Meet Sign-Up and Swimmingly Registration 📅

USA Swimmers- Don’t forget to sign up for our first meet, the Forest Grove Pentathlon , by September 9th! 🏊‍♂️ You can find a tentative meet schedule on our website.

To participate in our developmental swim meets at Life Time, all swimmers need to create an account with Swimmingly (new participants) or register for the 2024-25 Short Course Season (returning participants). Swimmingly is our fun tool for organizing these meets, and there's no extra cost to join. Just follow the instructions below to get started:

Make sure you select the 2024-25 Short Course Season! For those already with a Swimmingly account, there are step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process. New parents can find instructions here too!

Mark your calendars for our first developmental swim meet on Friday, September 20th! 🗓
