Weekly Update: Team Expectations, Dev. Meet Recap, Upcoming USA Meets
Dear Team,
What a fantastic developmental meet we had last Friday! It was wonderful to see our athletes enjoying themselves while showing noticeable improvement in their performance.
Please take a moment to review this week’s update, which includes the following important items:
-
Reminders on Parent and Athlete Expectations
-
Developmental Meet Recap
-
Upcoming USA Swimming Competitions
As we continue to grow, we’d like to take a moment to remind families of a few key expectations. These align with USA Swimming guidelines and are outlined in our Team Handbook.
Parent Expectations & Reminders
-
Support Through Volunteering
Parents are strongly encouraged to get involved by volunteering at swim meets and other team events. Your time and energy make a huge difference in our athletes’ experience!
-
Observing Practices
You’re always welcome to watch practices from designated viewing areas. We kindly ask that you remain in these areas to minimize distractions for athletes and coaches.
-
Sideline Coaching
Please allow coaches to lead practices. Swimmers should be focused on their coach during workouts. The best way to support your athlete is through encouragement before and after practice or races.
-
Communicating with Coaches
Coaches are available to speak with parents before or after practice—typically within a 15-minute window. Please avoid approaching coaches while they are on-deck. If you'd like to schedule a conversation, feel free to send an email to coordinate a time.
-
Account Status
Families are responsible for keeping their Life Time accounts in good standing. Be sure to update us with any changes to your contact or billing information to ensure smooth communication and participation.
Athlete Expectations & Reminders
As we grow as a team, it’s important that our athletes continue to uphold the high standards of behavior, responsibility, and respect that define our program.
-
Follow All Pool Rules
Pool rules must be followed at all times—no exceptions. These rules ensure everyone’s safety and help maintain a positive environment.
-
Arrive Early & Be Prepared
Athletes should arrive 10 minutes before practice to participate in team meetings and dryland. We understand this can be a challenge—please just communicate if there’s a conflict.
-
Leisure Pool Use
If athletes choose to enjoy the leisure pool before or after practice, they must be supervised by a parent. Please remind them to be respectful of the space and of families with younger children using the area.
-
Gear & Equipment
Athletes are responsible for bringing all required gear to practice each day, including goggles, caps, and group-specific equipment. If team gear is borrowed, it must be returned to its proper place after use. A full equipment list is included at the end of this update.
-
Respect the Facility
We are lucky to train in such a beautiful space. Please help us take care of it by keeping the deck clean, collecting all personal items, and respecting shared areas. These habits build responsibility and help our athletes grow not just as swimmers, but as young leaders.
Thank you once again for your continued support. It’s an honor to work with your athletes, and we are so proud of the progress we’ve made together over the past two years. Here’s to even more growth ahead!
