November Swim Meet Updates – PAC Fall Invite & THSC Meet
Dear Swim Team Families,
My apologies for sending multiple messages today, but I want to share an important update. We recently received an invitation to the Portland Aquatic Club (PAC) Fall Invitational on November 1–2, and the entry deadline is approaching quickly. This meet takes place just one week before the THSC November Open (November 7–9).
Normally, I try to avoid scheduling meets on back-to-back weekends, but in this case each meet offers unique opportunities for different groups of our swimmers. Please review the guidance below to see which meet (or meets) may be the best fit for your swimmer:
Developmental 1
-
Encouraged to attend the Saturday afternoon 10&U session at PAC (Nov. 1).
-
This session is exclusively for 10&U swimmers and includes 25-yard races for 8&U swimmers—an option not always available.
-
Not eligible for the THSC Meet.
Developmental 2
-
10&U swimmers: Encouraged to attend the Saturday afternoon 10&U session at PAC (Nov. 1), especially if they have already swum in a Life Time developmental meet.
-
11&O swimmers: Should continue with our in-house developmental meets for now.
-
Not eligible for the THSC Meet.
Bronze
-
PAC is a great option for less experienced Bronze swimmers and 8&U Bronze swimmers.
-
More experienced Bronze swimmers may attend either or both meets.
Silver
-
12&U swimmers: May attend either or both meets.
-
13&O swimmers: Should attend PAC. The THSC meet requires a 13–14 BB time, which no current Silver swimmers have.
Gold
-
12&U swimmers: May attend both meets; if choosing one, THSC is recommended.
-
13&O swimmers: Must have a 13–14 BB time to compete at THSC. Without this time, they are not eligible for THSC. (This is a new requirement this year.)
-
I will be reaching out individually to 13&O swimmers who have limited or no qualifying events for THSC to help plan the best course of action.
National Age Motivational Times
Both meets are excellent opportunities, and we look forward to seeing swimmers participate in the races that best support their growth and confidence.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your lead coach with questions or if you’d like guidance in selecting the right meet for your swimmer.
