FGSC 2025 Season Opener Pentathlon Recap
The FGSC 2025 Season Opener Pentathlon this past weekend was a fantastic start to the season for our team. It was an exciting way to kick off the year! Here are the highlights:
Bronze Highlights

Amy Guo – competed in her first USA swim meet and delivered impressive swims. Placed high in the individual 25 Fly, 25 Breaststroke, and 25 Free.
Highlight swim: 25 Breaststroke

Vincent Schremer – was locked in on his races. Competed both days and approached each race with determination. Finished 1st overall in the Pentathlon for 8 year old boys!
Highlight swim: 25 Back

Naava Shahbeigi – competed in her first USA swim meet and put together strong swims. Placed high in the individual 25 Back and 100 IM.
Highlight swim: 100 IM

Rhosyn Thomas – competed in her first USA swim meet and delivered strong swims. Competed both days of the pentathlon and placed high in her age group!
Highlight swim: 50 Breaststroke
Silver Highlights

Hutson Cain – delivered strong swims in his first meet of the season. Took on the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Fly.

Anna Downie – brought great energy and support to the team! Solid time improvements in the 200 IM and 50 Back.

Adam Kao – strong start for the new swim season! Placed in the top 5 in the 50 Fly, 50 Free, and 50 Breaststroke individual events.

Ally Liu – raced with great focus and strategy. Competed both days of the pentathlon with strong swims on the last day!

Oliver Ng – delivered impressive swims with time improvements in all races. Competed both days of the pentathlon and brought great energy cheering on his teammates. Finished 2nd overall in the pentathlon!

Niki Shahbeigi – had great team spirit and cheered on her teammates! Delivered solid swims in the 50 Back and 200 IM.

Dexter Thomas – opened the season with solid swims! Competed both days of the pentathlon with time improvements in the 100 Fly and 100 Free.

Gold Highlights

Aurelia Anderson – brought great team spirit, always cheering on her teammates.
Highlight swim: 50 Breaststroke (2-second drop)

Simon Boariu – strong racing in his first meet as a 13-year-old, earning best times in all events and placing 4th overall in the Pentathlon.

Danya Carmona – impressive debut with Life Time, setting a new team record in the 11–12 Girls 50 Fly.

Diego Carmona – first meet with Life Time and delivered huge time drops in both long events.
Highlight swim: 200 Breaststroke

Sonia Ellefson – posted a 6-second improvement in the 200 IM and finished 5th overall in her age group.
Highlight swim: 200 IM

Isabella Jones – took on the toughest track (200s of every stroke plus 400 IM) and earned a 5th place overall medal.

Marcus Kim – outstanding debut with Life Time, racing to 5 new personal bests and finishing 5th overall.

Morgan Lee – recently aged into the 13–14 group and dropped 9 seconds in the 100 Fly, showing great progress.
Highlight swim: 100 Fly

Henry Little – first meet for Life Time, with 4 new best times.
Highlight swim: 50 Fly (4-second drop)

Brooke Lunden – finished 4th overall and set a new team record in the 11–12 Girls 50 Backstroke.

Madison Mason – showed strong technique throughout the meet, leading to key time drops.
Highlight swim: 50 Breaststroke

Joshua Ng – first meet for Life Time and a standout weekend, highlighted by a 9-second drop in the 200 IM and a 2nd-place overall finish.

Patrick Schremer – first meet as an 11-year-old and competed hard all weekend.
Highlight swim: 50 Fly

Henry Shaffer – showed continued improvement in his strokes with a big drop in the 100 Fly.
Highlight swim: 100 Fly (4.5-second drop)

Elowyn Thomas – continued strong racing from the summer season with multiple best times and a 2nd-place overall finish.
Highlight swim: 200 IM (3-second drop)
We are incredibly proud of all our swimmers for their effort, teamwork, and positivity throughout the weekend. From first-time competitors to record-breakers, everyone contributed to a fantastic start to the season. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
