Parent Expectations & Reminders

As our program continues to grow, we want to take a moment to review a few key expectations. These align with USA Swimming guidelines and are outlined in our Team Handbook.

Support Through Volunteering
Parents are strongly encouraged to get involved by volunteering at swim meets and team events. Your time and energy significantly enhance our athletes’ experience.

Observing Practices
You are always welcome to observe practices from the designated viewing areas. Please remain in these areas to minimize distractions for our athletes and coaches.

Sideline Coaching
Please allow our coaching staff to lead practices and provide instruction. The best way to support your swimmer is through positive encouragement before and after practice or races.

Communicating with Coaches
Coaches are available to talk with parents before or after practice—generally within a 15-minute window. Please avoid approaching coaches on deck during practice. If you’d like to set up a longer conversation, feel free to email us to schedule a time.

Account Status
Families are responsible for ensuring their Life Time accounts remain in good standing. Please update us with any changes to your contact or billing information so communication stays smooth and uninterrupted.

Athlete Expectations & Reminders

As we continue to grow, it’s important that all athletes uphold the high standards of behavior, effort, and respect that define our program.

Follow All Pool Rules
Pool rules must be followed at all times—no exceptions. These rules ensure safety and help maintain a positive training environment.

Arrive Early & Be Prepared
Athletes should arrive 10 minutes before practice to participate in team meetings and dryland. We understand conflicts happen—just communicate with your coach if you’ll be late.

Leisure Pool Use
Athletes may use the leisure pool before or after practice, but they must be supervised by a parent. Please remind swimmers to be respectful of the space and the families with younger children nearby.

Gear & Equipment
Athletes are responsible for bringing all required gear each day: goggles, caps, and any group-specific equipment. Borrowed team gear must be returned to its proper location after use.

Respect the Facility
We are fortunate to train in such a beautiful space. Please help keep it clean by collecting all personal belongings, returning equipment, and respecting shared areas. These habits build responsibility and help our swimmers grow as both athletes and leaders.

Thank you for your continued support. It’s an honor to work with your athletes, and we are incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made together this season. We’re excited for all that’s ahead!

Upcoming Non-Championship USA Meets

Canby Valentine Invite- Last Chance

February 15

Registration Deadline: CLOSED

More Information will be sent out later in the week!

John Haring Memorial B/C Showdown- Chehalem Aquatic Center

March 14-15

Registration Deadline: Pushed Back to February 17th

This meet is an excellent end-of-season short course opportunity for all athletes who have not yet achieved an Oregon Swimming A time. Swimmers who already have an A time in a particular event may not swim that specific event at this meet.

It’s a great competition for every training group—including our developmental swimmers—and provides a positive, supportive environment for athletes to gain experience, try new events, and finish the short course season strong!

Oregon Swimming Time Standards

The Oregon Swimming State Time Standards for the 2025–2026 season have been finalized! You can view them by clicking [HERE].

A few important notes:

  • SCY (Short Course Yards): Nearly all meets during the fall and winter are held in short course yards, so swimmers should use the SCY standards for reference.

  • SCM (Short Course Meters) meets are rare in Oregon, and LCM (Long Course Meters) standards are primarily used for spring and summer meets.

  • State qualifying times (OSI Championship times) cannot be achieved at Life Time Developmental Meets—they must be swum at USA Swimming–sanctioned competitions.

Achieving a qualifying time in the appropriate age group allows swimmers to compete in the Oregon State Championships. The championship dates for this season are as follows:
