TRIATHLON
Who?
We established the Quicksilver Triathlon program to bring the sport of triathlon to first-time and amateur triathletes in the South Bay, with a primary focus on swimming since it tends to be the greatest barrier. Our program is a response to two major gaps we noticed in the local triathlon scene:
- We are the ONLY year-round, in-person, coach-led triathlon program in San Jose.
- We provide opportunities for beginners to join the sport, serving both seasoned competitors and newcomers.
What?
Our program provides a comprehensive, coach-led preparation plan that is accessible and adaptable for new athletes. We will train beginning in April, and will compete as a team in local events from May to September, in preparation for a final triathlon in October.
Your membership includes (each week):
- Four in-person sessions with the triathlon team led by a certified Tri Coach
- Full access to the Quicksilver Masters practices (swimming)
- An individual workout plan provided at the beginning of each week
- Discounts on certain training & competition gear, apparel, and race entry fees

Fitness Requirement
For safety reasons, the minimum fitness requirement to join our adult swim team is:
- Ability to comfortably swim 50 yards freestyle with side breathing
- 25 yards of backstroke or breaststroke
- 25 yards of flutter kick on the back
Swimmers at this level are considered beginners. The mid-morning and evening workouts are the most beginner-friendly. If you cannot yet meet the fitness requirement, please consider our Adult Learn-to-Swim or Intro to Masters programs before you join the triathlon team.
