The Speedo 2019 CA-NV Sectionals Swimming Championships was held in Monterey Park, California December 13th-16th, 2019. Many of the top clubs from California and Nevada competed in this championship meet. The Pleasanton Seahawks (PLS) swept the three top awards: 1st Place Team Award, Overall Top Male award to Taber Dacosta, and Overall Top Female award to Sydney Lu. The Speedo 2019 Winter Junior (West) Championships was held in Federal Way, Washington December 11th-14th, 2019. Many of the top junior swimmers, 18 and younger, in the United States showcased their speed and talents in this championship meet. The Pleasanton Seahawks sent three qualifiers: Andy Wang, Allen Dempster, and Alex Ren. Andy Wang’s best performance was 30th place on 1650y Free (15:44.88). The Winter 2019 Junior Olympics Championships was held in San Jose, California December 6th-8th, 2019. As many as 940 swimmers from 70 top clubs in Pacific Swimming competed in this age-group championship meet. The Pleasanton Seahawks (PLS) captured three top awards: 2nd Place Team Award, High Point Award 11 Year Old Female to Natalie Mak, and High Point Award 12 Year Old Female to Alexis Mesina. The Pleasanton Seahawks (PLS) competed at the 2019 Toyota US Open Swimming Championships held at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia December 4th-7th, 2019. Most of the top swimmers in the USA, including Olympians, competed in this championship meet. Sydney Lu, Allen Dempster, and Lleyton Plattel represented PLS, providing exciting races and improving their overall performances at this early-season meet. The Pleasanton Seahawks (PLS) hosted the Pacific Swimming Short Course Yards Senior 2 Trials and Finals Meet on November 9 - 10 at the team’s pool facility in Pleasanton. More than 700 swimmers from 49 teams in Pacific Swimming as well as other top teams from Sierra Nevada and Oregon were in attendance. The 2019 Western Zone Age Group Championships were held in Gresham, OR August 7-10. Approximately 697 swimmers (14 & under) representing 17 all-star teams across the Western United States (AK, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, and WY) came together to compete in 98 events at Mt.
