PSL CODE OF CONDUCT
 
ATHLETE
 
The purpose of PSL’s Athlete Code of Conduct is to establish a consistent expectation for member athlete’s behavior.
 
All PSL athletes are expected to:
  • Respect and show courtesy to their teammates and coaches at all times.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all practices and meets.
  • Set a good example of behavior and work ethic for their teammates.
  • Be respectful of their teammates’ feelings and personal space and property. Athletes who exhibit sexist, racist, homophobic, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will face consequences.
  • Attend practices and team events as outlined in group descriptions and discussed at group meetings, unless excused by their lead coach.
  • Show respect for all facilities and other property (including locker rooms) used during practices, competitions, and team activities.
  • Promote the use of positive self-talk, encouragement toward teammates, and respect toward all.
  • Refrain from foul language, violence, behavior deemed dishonest, offensive, or illegal.
  • Refrain from bringing any items such as toys, weapons, or any object not pertaining to swim to any team-related events
  • Talk with their lead coach and not approach the official directly if they disagree with an official’s call.
  • Obey all of USA Swimming’s rules and codes of conduct.
  • Represent the whole of PSL and be mindful of the team and community that supports them.
Violations of this Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action determined by the coaches and PSL’s board of directors.
