Mavericks Swim Club

Each year the Mavericks Swim Club trains over 150 young athletes from elementary school to high school. Our certified and credentialed coaches provide year-round, age-specific practice groups to challenge and develop each swimmer to the best of their ability. Participation in local swim meets is encouraged but not required. Practices are available every weekday and Saturday. Swimmers can attend as many practices as they want.  We offer scholarships for those that qualify.

MiniMavs
MiniMavs swimmers must be able to safely swim the length of the pool, and are working to become familiar with all four strokes.

The focus of MiniMavs is to develop good freestyle and backstroke technique. MiniMavs concentrate on proper body position, arm strokes, kicking, and breathing. MiniMavs also learn butterfly and breaststroke technique, dives, starts, and turns. When the coaches feel that the swimmer is comfortable in all four strokes, is confident swimming medium-length distances, and displays the appropriate maturity level, MiniMavs will be invited to join the Bronze group.

We suggest MiniMavs attend two to three practices a week.

Current MiniMavs age range: 6-12

Bronze
Bronze swimmers must be familiar with all four strokes and follow swim workouts semi-independently.

The focus of Bronze is stroke development and swimming longer distances while maintaining proper technique . Bronze swimmers learn to follow workouts independently, and improve their technique in all four strokes, starts, and turns.

We suggest Bronze swimmers attend three to four practices a week.

Current Bronze age range: 8-14

Silver-Gold
Silver-Gold swimmers are generally high school age athletes who are comfortable following swim workouts independently.

The focus of Silver-Gold is to improve stroke technique, fitness, and goal setting. The workouts will increase in yardage and complexity, and training will focus on conditioning and performance.

We suggest Silver-Gold swimmers attend three to four practices a week.

Current Silver-Gold age range: 12-18
