OUR NEW SWIMMER EVALUTAION IS FULL. We do not carry a waitist for evaluations. Our next evaluation will be JUNE 2026.

Swimmers interested in joining AAC must attend a new swimmer evaluation. Info on our New Swimmer Evaluations for the 2025-26 can be found below.
New swimmer evaluations will be held on June 18th for Arlington County residents ONLY and on June 25th for anyone interested in joining AAC. All evaluations will be held at Long Bridge pool from 6-8pm and you must register to attend an evaluation.
Registration for these evaluations will open one week prior to the evaluation date. Spots are limited and they do tend to fill quickly. Click on the registration link that appears on the top right corner of our page. The link will appear on June 11th. DO NOT MAKE AN ACCOUNT BEFORE THE OPENING OF REGISTRATION! Once the registration is full, we will close the link and it will no longer appear. We do not keep waitlists for registrations.
- Registration for the June 18th evaluation for Arlington Residents ONLY will open on June 11th at 9 am.
- Registration for the June 25th evaluation that is open to everyone will open on June 19th at 9 am.
To register go to our homepage and click "Registration" on the right side of the page. You will have 3 registration times to choose from: 6:00-6:40, 6:40-7:20 or 7:20-8:00 pm. Note: Your registration fee must be made at the time of your swimmer evaluation to reserve a spot on the team.
Swimmers must be at least 7 yrs of age and able to easily swim a length of the pool freestyle with side breathing, a length of backstroke, and knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly to be considered for the beginner practice group. There is no fee for new swimmer evaluations.

New Swimmers Interested in Joining AAC
Any swimmers interested in joining one of the Year Round Competitive Programs at AAC (Age Group Performance, Senior Prep, or Senior) MUST schedule to attend a practice in order to join the program.
All swimmers interested in joining one of AAC’s other swim groups must attend one of the New Swimmer Evaluations.
IMPORTANT: Your Registration Fee must be paid at the time of your Swimmer Evaluation in order to reserve a spot on the team. Please note, ALL SPACES ON THE TEAM ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. IF YOUR SWIMMER IS EVALUATED BEFORE OTHERS, THEY WILL GET THE FIRST SPACES AVAILABLE FOR THE GROUPS THEY QUALIFY FOR.
Your swimmer will be evaluated by an AAC Coach and you will be advised as to which group you qualify for registration. Once you are an active member of AAC, you will not need to do any future tryouts. Your coach will provide a recommendation at the end of each swim season. Minimum requirement for entry level is to easily enter the water and comfortably swim 25 yd freestyle with side breathing and 25 yd backstroke without stopping, and knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers must be age 7 or above and be able to follow directions and participate without a parent on deck.
All of our coaches, as members of USA Swimming and the American Swim Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.
Team Support
The Arlington Aquatic Club, sponsored by Arlington County, is a non profit club run by its Boosters Board which meets periodically throughout the season. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.
We are constantly growing and training swimmers to maintain a well-rounded competitive swim team.
