Dive Team Common Questions:
-
Participation- Must be 4 years old by May 31, be able to swim the width of the pool unassisted, have the desire to jump off the 1m board without hesitation. Must also be able to pay attention and follow directions. No experience required. Summer diving offers the opportunity for all levels (beginner to advance) to participate by dividing up the age groups based upon levels of diving. See below for description of diving levels.
There is a current Fort Wayne City Dive League, but there are not any pools on the north side of town that offer diving. Glenaqua, Pocahontas, Orchard Ridge, Fort Wayne Country Club, Arlington Park, New Haven and Blackhawk offer dive teams currently. We would like to be able to bring this opportunity to the north side of town. Did you know that Carroll Middle School and Maple Creek offer swimming and diving at 6th grade? This is the perfect way to get exposed to diving to see if this is something you would like to do in middle school or high school.
-
There is a City Dive meet (this is the final dive meet of the year and is against all the time teams in the area) that is held at the Southside Natatorium on July 18 and 19th, 2025. This is similar to the Ft Wayne City Swim championships. 13 and over boys/girls are on Friday the 18th and 12 and under boys and girls are Saturday the 19th, with 8u girls starting first in the morning.
-
Dive Meets are held on Monday evenings and we will do these as a tri meet with Genaqua Pool. Meets usually start at 5:30 with the 8 and under age group and then the 9-10 age groups, then 11-12 and so forth. If is not required to stay the whole meet. Each age group may take anywhere from 15 min to 30 min in duration). Please reach out if you have further questions on timing for the meets. Typically there is a 10 min warm up in between age groups.
-
Practices are held at the Carroll High School Natatorium on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays ( this is the available pool/dive board times). Practices right now are looking at 4p and 5p options on Tuesday and Wednesday with a 3 and 4p option on Thursdays ( due to having swim meets on Thursdays) . Our first practice will be on Monday 6/2/25 at Carroll HS natatorium.
