Practice Information
  • Swimmers should arrive 5 minutes before practice so as to be on deck and ready before practice starts.

  • Swimmers should be picked up at the scheduled ending time of practice.  No Exceptions!

  • For the swimmers’ protection, parents should make sure a coach is at practice and that there is practice before leaving their child at the pool each day.

  • Swimmers should come prepared to practice with swim suit, swim cap, goggles, towels etc.

  • The swimmer should plan to stay the entire practice.  The last part of practice is often the most important.  Also, announcements are sometimes made at the end of practice.

  •  Parents are asked to refrain from speaking with coaches and/or swimmers during practice.

  • Swimmers are never to leave the pool area without permission from a coach.

  •  Parents and swimmers are guests while at the Autumn Ridge Pool  and need to respect this privilege.  Any damage to the AR Pool and/or its facilities may result in financial liability to the swimmer’s parents.  Any damage may also result in the swimmer being asked to the leave the team permanently without a refund of membership dues.

  • From time to time, there will be a rotating coaching structure.  At times you will see individualized coaching taking place; maybe even some videotaping of particular children going on.  It is our philosophy that children learn best in a diverse coaching environment that brings many opportunities for a variety of coaching techniques to be used.  Please don’t hesitate to speak with a coach directly should you have questions or concerns regarding your swimmer and their success within this type of coaching environment.

  • Any questions regarding practice schedules and/or swim meets should be directed to the coaches.

Attendance

Practice attendance is encouraged but not mandatory.  Excuses for vacations, camps and other such things are understood and exceptions will be made at the Coach’s discretion.  Swimmers will practice with their assigned groups.

Please note that PRACTICE IS ALMOST NEVER CANCELED.  Cancelations will only occur when there is adverse weather or something out of the ordinary occurs.  If practice is canceled, you will receive an e-mail as soon as possible to inform you of the decision.  Feel free to contact the Autumn Ridge Pool at 637-6039 should you have a question as to if the pool will be open or not.  Remember: swim practice will be held no matter what temperature it is outside!  No refunds or credit will be issued because of canceled or missed practices.
