Crestmoor Swim & Dive Team

Summer 2026

Overview of age groups for swim team:

The Crestmoor Barracuda Swim Team  offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. The only requirement for participation is that swimmers be able to complete 25 meters or Freestyle and 25 meters of Backstroke. It is the goal of the CCA Barracudas to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Age Group Descriptions:

Please note that swimmers age is determined based on their age on May 15 of the current year.

8 and Under Group

This is our entry level group. Due to the wide range in age and skill, the Crestmoor coaching staff uses an 'all hands on deck' approach to these practices. The 8 and unders will be flexibly grouped from day to day determined by skill, stroke interest, need, or age. It is our hope that all 8 and under swimmers be able to swim all four strokes legally and compete on a regular basis. If your swimmer is new to the sport or not yet proficient in all strokes, we strongly encourage participation in our Swim Lesson Program.
8 and Under Group Coach: Craig Ricketts, Scott Alverson, and Cooper Krause

Dive Team Description:

Dive team is the opportunity for new friendships and a rewarding experience. Divers learn the basic skills for safe springboard diving and show off their skills by competing in dive meets within age and gender based groups. Ribbons for winners are awarded at the end of each meet. For those not yet ready for competition, dive lessons are also an option.

Synchro Team Description:

Synchronized swimming is a fun, challenging, and demanding sport for swimmers of all ages. There are two levels of swimmers including “novices” and “intermediates”. Swimmers compete at Figure Meets throughout the season in preparation for the State Meet which includes both figure competition and routine competition. The figure meets give swimmers an opportunity to compete against girls from other teams who are the same age and level of experience. The State Finals showcase the season’s hard work in the routine portion that is judged for technical merit, as the required elements are set to music. Learning the figures and routines requires dedication and teamwork as well as an important element of lap swimming ability. All meets end in a ceremony that awards ribbons. If your child is not ready for competition level synchronized swimming, there are private synchro lessons available. The coaching staff highly recommends swim team or swim lessons for the synchro girls as a means of cross training to build strength and increase success.
