WELCOME TO DIVE TEAM!

General Information

Dulaney Swim Club's Dive Team welcomes athletes of all abilities between the ages of 5-18!  We practice three days a week from June-July with extra practice available on Meet days.  As part of the Central Maryland Dive League (CMDL), we compete in six Dual Meets with other area-pools on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the season. Families are responsible for transporting their children to away meets.  DSC divers will be diving for the Blue Division this season.  For additional information about our league, please click here to visit the CMDL website. 

We encourage divers to attend as many practices and meets as possible—this gives athletes the best chance to develop their skills.  Beginner divers who have not received two or more qualifying scores during Dual Meets are invited to finish the season at the Dunleavy Novice Meet.  Divers receiving two or more qualifying scores are invited to finish the season at Championships.  These final meets usually occur on Sundays near the end of July.

We Need Volunteers! 

In order to have a successful program, we need families to help with the score table and judging (judges training is required) during our Home and Away Meets.  A minimum of six volunteers is necessary for each meet to run smoothly.  Families can now sign up for jobs online.  After registering, you will be able to log-in and view the sign-ups listed on the Team Calendar (search "Dive" to refine options).  See our FAQ page for job descriptions.  If you have any questions please email the Dive Rep.: [email protected]. Thank you in advance for supporting the team!

Practice Groups 

Divers will be divided into two practice groups according to experience (a third group might be formed depending on the size of the team each season).  While school is in session, practice will be in the evenings.  Once school is finished, there will be morning practices five days a week and two evening practices.  An updated schedule will be posted under the "Practice Schedule & Coach Info" tab and on the Team Calendar at the start of the season.  

Group 1 - Beginner/Novice Divers:

This group is designed to teach the safe and proper way to use the springboard.  At this level, students will be taught a forward approach and back press while jumping off the board.  They will then progress to forward and back dives as well as other skills as time and ability permit.  Any child who has an interest in diving and can swim comfortably in deep water may join this group.

Group 2 –Intermediate/Advanced Divers:

This group is designed to introduce more dives and skills to those who have already mastered the basic dives.  These divers should be able to complete a front dive, back dive, inward dive or front flip.  Divers will explore dives in each of the 5 diving categories:  forward, backward, reverse, twisting, and inward.

What to Wear

DSC Dive Team colors are Blue & Black- any combination of blues and black is perfect.  Girls should wear a one-piece swimsuit and boys should wear jammers or swim briefs for all Meets.

PLEASE NOTE, ALL divers must first obtain an AAU# in order to register (our 2025 Club number is W4T833): 

 click here to join AAU. Cost is $20/child. If your child has an AAU# from year round diving, you can use that. It must be new, expiring Aug 31, 2025.

2025 Fees:  $130/diver and $120 for siblings-(excludes the AAU# cost).
