News Blast: Coaches & New Manager Announced, Training Dates, HoCo Swimmer Invitational, and More!

IN THIS NEWS BLAST:
The Green Turtle in Columbia is generously donating 20% of all purchases made by anyone who presents our flyer during their business hours today (Friday, April 25.) Skip the dinner prep and come support the team! Bring the whole family out to dinner, coordinate to meet up with other swim parents to catch up over drinks, or just pick up something for lunch and bring it back to the office. Tell your friends and family, too! (Just make sure they know to bring the flyer!)
Please note that you MUST present THE FLYER in order for us to receive the donation.
We've been asked by the Columbia Aquatics Club (aka Clippers Swim Team) to share information about this swimming opportunity. Although it is hosted by the Clippers, you do not have to be a clipper to participate -- you merely need to live in Howard County and be a High School Student:
Registration is now open for the 2025 Howard County High School Invitational Meet!
The meet is open to all Howard County High School students who attend public, private, parochial, and home school programs. Swimmers are welcome to sign up for 2 individual and 2 relay events. Please use the links below to find additional meet information and to register to participate in the meet.
Entries must be received by 7 PM, Friday, May 23rd. Deck entries will not be permitted.

Not only do we get four fantastic coaches this year, they're all homegrown 'Cudas. We know it's going to be extra fun season! You can read more about the coaches here.
We are incredibly thrilled and thankful to announce that Elizabeth Heerdt is stepping up to fill the empty third-manager slot. Elizabeth, you have no idea how big a life-saver you are. Welcome aboard!
For those interested in volunteering as officials, a registration link for training classes will be communicated soon, but in the meantime, here are the dates when the training will be offered. Note: Potential refs and starters must first do one year as an S&T first. All officials must take the CNSL training, even if they took it last year, and even if they're USA certified.
All from 5:30 to 7:30PM:
- Wednesday, May 28 at the Aquatics Office
- Thursday, May 29 Virtual Training (for USA/YMCA Officials only)
- Monday, June 2 at Running Brook Pool
- Tuesday, June 3 at Hawthorne Pool
- Wednesday, June 4 at Phelps Luck Pool
- Thursday, June 5 at Talbott Springs Pool
Joe and Kim are returning as our data gurus this year, but they cannot do every week and we could use a few backups who know how to do it! If you have interest in fulfilling your volunteer obligation as one of our data people, please send an email to [email protected] to let us know. Currently there is one training session scheduled, but we need to let CNSL know the names of who plans to attend.

In our last email blast, we posted links to our practice schedule on the website, but that schedule contained an error in morning times of the regular season (it is from 8 to 10, not 8:30 to 10.) This has been corrected.
