Welcome to the Burke Centre Penguins! Our team is a summer developmental and competitive swim team that includes year-round opportunities offering high-quality, professional coaching and technique instruction, and tons of fun for all ages and abilities! 

The goal of our team is to provide every member the opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his/her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. All members are welcome and encouraged to be involved in team activities.

All swim team members and Mini Penguins program participate in a daily swim practice/lesson beginning after school once the pools open after Memorial Day and switch to morning practices/lessons once FCPS schools are out for the summer through to mid-July.  All swimmers can participate in the weekly Developmental ("B") meets, held on Wednesday afternoons (~5 per season).  A portion of each age group will be invited weekly to swim in the competitive "A" meets held Saturday mornings (5 meets plus post-season).

You do not need to be a Burke Centre resident to join our team, but you do need to have a Burke Centre Conservancy Pool Membership. Check out the Burke Centre Conservancy website for details about purchasing your pool membership. The Burke Centre Penguins, part of the Burke Centre Swim Club, competes in the Colonial Swim League (CSL) in the Red Division.
