Penguins Winter Swim Registration OPEN

The Penguins Winter Swim Program is a non-competitive option for swimmers who want to stay in the water year-round but aren’t ready, or interested, in the greater time commitment of a competitive winter swim team.

The Penguins Winter Swim Program is not a “learn to swim” program, as our lanes range in depth from 4 to 12 feet. The program is open to lane swimmers only, not our mini swimmers. If you believe your mini swimmer was close to lane swimmer status this past summer, please email us so we can seek approval from the coaches. Beginning swimmers are best served in one of the County’s learn-to-swim or swim team prep classes.

Each lane will be limited to 10 swimmers, and some swimmers may need to start from the middle of the pool. All swimmers must be approved by the coaches.

Lane space is limited, and while we will do our best to accommodate all interested swimmers.

GOAL: The goal of the Penguins Winter Swim Program is for all swimmers to be legal in each stroke, complete an IM, and refine their starts and turns. In addition, swimmers will focus on improving overall stroke technique.

WHEN & WHERE: Penguins Winter Swim will be held at South Run RECenter on Sundays from 5:00-6:00 pm. The Penguins Winter Swim Program will start on Sunday, September 7, 2025 and run through Sunday, May 17, 2026. 

COST:  The cost for the season will be $325 per swimmer plus credit card processing fee. Due to a system limitation, if you will be registering more than 5 siblings, contact [email protected] so we can manually process your registration.  Payment is due at the time of registration. 

REFUNDS/WAITLIST: If your swimmer changes their mind AND there are swimmers on a waitlist, a prorated refund may be offered so we can assign your slot to another swimmer. If a new swimmer does not pass the swim evaluation, a full refund will be offered. Once your swimmer has been selected to join the team, there will be NO refunds offered if there is nobody on the waitlist.

SWIMMER SELECTION: Registration is on a first come first serve basis for our Lane Swimmers. If your swimmer was a mini swimmer and you would like them to be considered for the Winter Swim Program, please email us for the coaches approval.

NO SWIM DATES:  The Penguins Winter Swim Program will start on Sunday, September 7, 2025 and run through Sunday, May 17, 2026.  The season will have a total of 30 sessions.  There will NOT be Winter Swim on the dates listed below:
