2024 Swim Season Wrap-Up
Waves,
What an INCREDIBLE All-City swim meet! I am so proud of all of you. It was so fun to watch you race this weekend. Give yourselves a pat on the back for all the hard work you put in this season! Check out the final team scores – BEST SHOWING FOR THE WAVES EVER!!! Make sure you check out the Facebook and Instagram pages for some other highlights from the meet. Don’t worry, there is more to come!
Just a couple final announcements before we wrap up the season at our team celebration tomorrow evening:
End of Season Celebration:
Join us from 7:00-8:30pm at the Goodman Pool tomorrow evening (8/4) for pizza and free swim! You are welcome to contribute a dessert or side, but there will be plenty of pizza to go around. BYO (non-alcoholic) beverages.
Club Swimming:
The Madison-area is fortunate to be home to many, many swim teams. If your swimmer is interested in joining a club swim team and competing through the fall/winter, please reach out to me and I can connect you with some information. Most teams will host new swimmer evaluations/tryouts in mid-August, so don’t drag your feet!
High School Swimming:
Interested in high school swimming or diving? Girls Swim & Dive is a fall sport and begins mid-August. Boys Swim & Dive is a winter sport and gets underway mid-November. Please note some schools have tryouts due to the high participation interest. For instance, West High School Girls begin mandatory tryouts on Aug 13.
Below is Head Coach info, where available, along with Goodman names if you're interested in asking them about their experiences at each of the high schools. Contact the Athletic Director and their Secretary at each high school for additional information.
And last but not least, a kind message from the Shorewood Hills Swim Team:
Thank you for celebrating the sport of swimming with us at this year's All-City swim meet! We feel so lucky to share this huge celebration of swimming with all of you. We hope you'll carry your positive energy and wonderful sportsmanship with you on Saturday and remember that we are 13 united pools that support each other and our entire community.
We're connected in many ways beyond swimming, and we look forward to continuing to support and celebrate each other!
Warmly,
The Shorewood Hills Pool All-City Swim Meet Planning Team
Thank you all for the warm welcome this season. It has truly been a pleasure to coach the Waves. I will see you all tomorrow! Let’s party!
