Head Coach Daniel Rico

Daniel Rico and swimming have been together for over 20 years. Daniel started his swimming career in local Martinez with the Forest Hills Swim team in 2003. Since joining FHST he has  transitioned from swimmer to coach and has been the head coach for the last 3 years. In search of expanding his coaching efforts he has stumbled across College Park and instantly fell in love with the team spirit and competitiveness of their athletes. He felt the opportunity would be the perfect situation to mentor the athletes and share a similar high school experience that was so memorable to Daniel. Beyond coaching Daniel has always been a determined competitor and team leader. In high school he swam for Alhambra where he was the team captain for 3 years. Then Daniel went on to swim at UC Santa Cruz where he was a team captain his senior year and made the top 10 all time list in the 200 Breaststroke. After college he joined the Walnut Creek Masters team where he still has the opportunity to compete with swimmers of all ages. His experience experience with the local East Bay swim community has grown tremendously in the last couple years and Daniel is excited to keep expanding and meeting new athletes and coaches.

Assistant Coach Sarah Dolphin

As a Pleasant Hill native, Sarah started swimming each summer at Pleasant Hill Aquatics at the age of 6 and have been poolside every summer since. Sarah stepped up from swimming into coaching in 2008. After learning alongside some incredible coaches, Sarah was the PHA Head Coach from 2012-2018. Thanks to her continual overlap of swimmers/CP students, she began coaching at College Park in the spring of 2014, and has been coaching on & off as her teaching schedule allows.

Sarah received a B.A. in Sociology from Gonzaga University in 2012 & her M.a.T/Elementary credential in 2013 from USF. She was lucky enough to land a position teaching locally, and began working in Lafayette where she's been teaching the past 10 years.

Sarah is passionate about swimming technique & strong stroke foundations, as well as the overall ‘swim team experience’ of developing teammates into friends with good sportsmanship, and guiding high school athletes into becoming well rounded & kind people! Sarah loves working with CP Falcons, and is stoked to be back on the pool deck this spring!
