Woodcreek Aquatics

Water Polo • Swim • Dive

My name is Hope Grantham and I am the Varsity Girls Water Polo Coach.

During my time at Woodcreek High School, the pool deck was practically my second home. Now, as the new varsity girls water polo coach, I'm thrilled to rejoin the Woodcreek aquatic community and give back to the program that provided me with invaluable experiences and growth. My passion for water polo began almost instantly when I joined the Sacramento Water Polo Club in 2015, just before entering high school. I competed at Sac Polo for nearly 6 years, including 4 ½ seasons on their Junior Olympic teams before the COVID-19 pandemic cut short my final summer. I also gained valuable coaching experience assisting with the club's youth summer camps as a Splash Ball coach.

During my senior year of high school, I had the privilege of leading the Varsity Girls team as their captain and received first-team all-conference honors in 2018 and 2019, as well as being named conference MVP for the 2019 season. That year, I also went through the Olympic Development Program (ODP) tryout process and was selected to compete in the All-Star tournament.

After graduating, I attended Sierra College, where I earned an AA in Liberal Studies: Teacher Preparation and an A.S. in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Although my time there was cut short by the pandemic, I played one full season of water polo and was chosen as a CCCAA Women's Water Polo All-American team in the 2021 season. In 2022, I was recruited by CSU East Bay, where I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies: Teacher Preparation. During my two years competing at East Bay, I received All-Conference Tournament team honors at the end of both seasons.

Along with coaching at Woodcreek High - I also coach at Sacramento Water Polo Club

Thank you for being at Woodcreek, Coach Grantham!

Water polo is my passion, and I look forward to sharing that with the next group of athletes. My goal is to cultivate a positive and welcoming environment on the pool deck and support students in reaching their full potential.
