2025 Fall Water Polo Season Starting Soon!
With the first day of school next week on Aug 7th, comes the beginning of water polo season! Be on the lookout for more information here and many emails from team parents in the next couple of weeks as the season gets started.
We will have game schedules and parent meeting info soon! If you have not filled out the registration form for the 2025 season, please do so here so we know who is planning to come back and to make sure we have all the correct information.
NEW PLAYERS
- Practice will officially begin Monday, 8/11 before or after school. See details below in team schedules
- If there are any athletes who are already cleared and want to get in the water early, they are welcome to start practicing with returning players during early start practices before official practices start.
- Must have athletic clearance before you can practice
- Our website is a great resource to answer any questions you may have - you will also find links to Woodcreek Aquatics social media, which is another great way to get info
- We use the sportsYou app to communicate - contact for our team code or see emails from team parents.
- For practices, athletes will need a swimsuit, towel, plenty of water, a quick snack for before or after, & sunscreen.
- Practice suits can be any color however it is recommended to have a black one while waiting for official suits. Note that most boys wear speedos, but jammers are ok. Polo suits should fit tight to prevent grabbing during gameplay. Recommended brands for girls suits are:
- Official team gear will be available for order soon, be on the lookout for more information
- Water polo is a no cut sport, so feel free to forward this information to anyone else that might be interested!
- You do not need to know how to play water polo to join the teams, as long as you are comfortable in the water unassisted then you can play!

PRACTICE INFO & SCHEDULE
All athletes must have athletic clearance in order to practice (All times are subject to change as the coaching team is finalized.)
If your athlete will miss or be late to practice, they must communicate with their coach in advance. Unexcused no-shows can impact their ability to participate in games/tournaments.
PRACTICE LOCATION
Roseville Aquatics Center (RAC), next to Woodcreek High School.
There is a locker room and showers are available.
TEAM SCHEDULES - GIRLS
Early Start Practice:
- Begins August 5th | Time: 8:30–9:30 AM
First Week of School (August 7–8):
- For those in 1st Period Athletic PE:
- Aug 7: Meet in Mr. Grantham’s classroom after the rally – no swim
- Aug 8: Light swim warm-ups
- For those not scheduled for 1st Period Athletic PE and who will just be attending Before-School Practice:
- No practice this week
Regular Practice Schedule Starting August 11:
Monday / Tuesday / Thursday
- Athletic PE: 6:30 – 9:20 AM
- Before-School Practice: 6:30 – 8:00 AM
Wednesday
- Athletic PE: 7:45 – 10:15 AM
- Before-School Practice: 7:00 – 9:00 AM
Friday
- Athletic PE: 7:15 – 9:45 AM
- Before-School Practice: 6:30 – 8:00 AM
TEAM SCHEDULES - BOYS
Early Start Practice:
- August 4th-6th | Time: 3:30–6:00PM
- Anyone who has their athletic clearance is welcome to practice.
First Week of School (August 7–8):
- For those in 4th Period Athletic PE:
- Meet in Coach D’Arienzo’s classroom, you will practice during class until around 4-4:30pm
- For those not scheduled for 4th Period Athletic PE and who will just be attending After-School Practice:
- No practice this week
- There will be an informational meeting for brand new players, Friday, August 8th after school on the pool deck bleachers. Coaches will be there to give information on the season and to answer all your questions.
Regular Practice Schedule Starting August 11:
Monday thru Friday
- Athletic PE: 4th Period
- Mondays 1:30pm-4:30pm
- Tuesdays - Fridays 2pm-4:30pm
- After-School Practice: 3:30 – 5:30 PM (head to pool right after school)
GAMES & TOURNAMENTS
The schedule is still being finalized, but here’s what to expect:
- 1 weekday game per week
- Multiple weekend tournaments (Friday/Saturday)
- Coaches will arrange for players to have early release from school on weekday games and tournaments.
- In addition to Home games, there will also be Away games/tournaments - players must arrange their own transportation
- Coaches cannot drive players or organize carpools, but rides can be coordinated via the group chat
Note:
There may be one Away tournament that requires an overnight hotel stay. Details will be shared once confirmed.
Gate Entry Fees:
- Anywhere from $5-$10 depending on the venue and ticket type
- Home game entry is Free for volunteers and Woodcreek students/families with All Access passes
FUNDRAISING & VOLUNTEERING
In addition to the participation/booster fee, we will have at least one fundraiser this season. Fundraising supports:
- Referees
- Lifeguards
- Coaching stipends
- Equipment and gear
Donations are always welcome and deeply appreciated.
