Congratulations, Olivia + Angelina!

Heather Ostrom

Congratulations to Olivia Dam and Angelina Nodora!

Angelina and Olivia have been selected to take part in the Olympic Development Program's Girls Championship event March 24th-26th, 2023.

Olivia and Angelina are both 2023 Seniors at Woodcreek High School and were part of the CIF Nor Cal Championship Water Polo team in 2022-23 for Woodcreek High School (our first state championship title AND first CIF Sac-Joaquin section pennant earned for our HS water polo program).

Both Angelina and Olivia were/are representing for Sacramento Water Polo Club (practices at Sierra College)

We are so proud of their accomplishments.

If you're interested in trying out ODP - it involves attending camps for a fee (optional to stay in or out of the state with varying costs). Some players - it's their hope and intent to attend a few of the camps with the hope to be chosen for the Championship teams, but for others, it's an opportunity to fine-tune their water polo skills and work with other players and coaches. They are broken down into age groups and years born

From the ODP website: Learn fundamental water polo skills from highly qualified coaches. Challenge yourself by training and playing with the top athletes in the Nation. Earn the opportunity to play on a USA Water Polo National Team. Make life-long water polo connections.

Athletes who are looking to improve or learn more about the game are encouraged to participate in local water polo clubs -

Sacramento Water Polo • American River Water Polo Club • Davis Water Polo Club • Cal Rep Water Polo Club - see the "helpful links" page.

Any of our water polo coaches at Woodcreek HS can help explain the process. Coach D'Arienzo is an ODP coach and Coach Kelsey and Coach D'Arienzo are both coaches at Sacramento Water Polo.
