Registration CLOSES after May 3rd so that our Volunteer Board and Volunteer Committees can plan the season and schedule-thank you for respecting that deadline and the limited time we have after registration to get ready for the season!
Mini and 6 & Under Stingrays:
Both Groups will have a daily (Mon-Fri) 30 minute practice session. Placements will be assigned for a 9am session and a 9:30am session.
Note: Both Minis and 6&U are NOT swim lessons .
- 6 and Under swimmers need to be able to swim a full lap of 25 yards by the end of the first week of practice.
- 6 and Unders also have to be comfortable in the water on their own, not fearful.
- 6 & Under swimmers who do not meet this requirement, will be placed with Minis.
- The Mini program is for swimmers who are age 4 by June 1, 2025 and who can swim but are not ready for swim team. Typically, these are younger children who cannot yet complete a lap unassisted.
MINI'S: These swimmers need to demonstrate the ability to jump in and swim back to the wall unassisted. This can be ANY type of swim, doggie paddle, underwater, just comfortable in the water without flotation. Minis can swim, just not for a long period of time, or distance. For the home meets the Mini's will have the opportunity to swim free and/or back. These requirements are in place for the safety of the swimmers. Both groups will use flotation often to work on technique, but the child needs to be comfortable in the water on their own. We want kids to love the sport of swimming by avoiding any unnecessary fear and pressure. If your child is fearful, it is probably best to wait until next season. One year can make a world of difference!
6 & UNDER: These swimmers will work on Freestyle and Backstroke technique and endurance. They will practice jumping off the blocks and swimming the stroke the length of the pool. We may ask that our 6 & under swimmers sign up for 3-4 meets only during the season to assist with assigning them freestyle and backstroke events during those meets IF the group is full.
6&U: Please sign up for 2 Home Meets and 2 Away Meets
Club Swimmers:
We offer a club option for 13 & older club swimmers to join the team to compete in meets. They will practice with their club team daily and not with the stingrays. Club swimmers can sign up for all meets and social events. (*A Club Swimmer is a child that is part of another league/team (USA or YMCA) that swims year round short course/long course)
Families with 3 or more Children (Full Team):
A discount can be offered for your registration of 3 or more children from the same household/family that are full team swimmers (Mini not applicable)
Children of Officials:
Due to our difficulty in recruiting officials, parents who train & sign up to officiate will also be given 1st priority registration with new swimmers. (Officials also eat free AND have preferred parking at home meets!)
Parent Meet Work Requirements:
Due to the large number of people needed to run a team and swim meets safely and with excellence, ALL families of Full team swimmers (not club or minis) must fulfill meet work duties as a requirement to stay on the regular team. Committee descriptions and committee duties will be handled with an upcoming online signup. If you are unable to lend your time to help run meets, fun events, or other aspects of the team, we respectfully request that you do not sign up your child(ren) to swim.
2025 Fees:
Mini Stingrays - $145 per season
Regular/Full Team (6&Under) - $145 per season and parent meet work required
Regular/Full Team (7&Over) - $200 per season and parent meet work required
