Ginger Tomes

I have been a swimmer since I was 9 years old and still swim today (although not competitively)! I grew up on a USA club team in Buffalo, NY and continued swimming into my college years. I swam at the University of Evansville until I graduated with my Bachelors in Psychology. Throughout my high school and college years, I coached, taught swim lessons, and lifeguarded at a small summer club in Buffalo. I continued my education at SUNY at Buffalo where I began coaching for a USA Swim Club there until I graduated with a Masters Degree and was married. My husband and I then moved to his hometown here in Cincinnati and we both began coaching at the Mason Manta Rays. While I coached for the Manta Rays, I helped create, run, and grow their Swim America swim lesson program until I started having kids. After a (very) short stint as the Assistant Coach at Bishop Fenwick High School and Head Coach at Lakota Hills Swim Club, I took some time away from coaching to raise my four beautiful babies. Now that all four of them are of summer swim team age, I couldn't wait to get back to my roots of summer club coaching! The Stingrays are the perfect fit for our family and we feel lucky to call the Landen Stingrays our home team... Go Stingrays!

Don Rielag

I have 27 years of coaching experience with several different teams. I am currently the head swimming coach at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Previously, I have been the head coach at Taylor HS, Winton Woods HS, Walnut Hills HS, 5 Seasons, Shady Lane Swim Club, and Oak Hills Swim Club. My swimming experience includes LaSalle High School (’97), Fairfield YMCA, and Xavier University (’01). My summer swimming philosophy is that the swimmers are here to learn about the sport and improve their skills while also having fun. My message for you all is that I am an instructional coach who will teach the kids to swim and compete. It is all about the little victories. Did your swimmer get a best time? Did they finally get part of a stroke correct that they have been struggling with? I love watching the swimmers improve. I live in Mason with my wife, Danielle, and my two daughters, Anna (12) and Caroline (9). We are all happy to be part of the Landen Stingrays this year. Anna and Caroline are excited to swim, and I am excited to serve you as a coach. Thank you for welcoming us into the Landen family. GO STINGRAYS!
