Parent Support

Swim Team is a program for children, but parent support and participation are more important in swimming, than perhaps, in any other sport. Parents play an important role in running each of the swim meets and in promoting team spirit. Each swim team family is required to volunteer their time at a minimum of two meets each season (Little Shark families are not required to volunteer). Parents are needed to help organize and officiate swim meets. Each meet requires a referee, timers, starters, announcers, stroke and turn judges and a clerk of course. Volunteer responsibilities for each role are outlined on the swim team page on the Club website. The CCSDA offers clinics in the spring and early summer to train parent volunteers to be stroke and turn judges and to function as referees and starters. Dates and times for these clinics will be posted under the swim team page on the website.
