Time Trials
Time Trials – A Key Start to the Season
Time Trials is the first meet that marks the start of the swim season. It’s run just like a real meet—with Stroke & Turn Judges, a Starter, and a Referee—and gives swimmers their first set of official times for the summer. Only Clarksburg Village swimmers participate in time trials. These times help track personal progress and are used by our Head Coach to seed the first A Meet of the season.
Who Participates:
All team swimmers who are legal and comfortable in at least one stroke are expected to swim at Time Trials. It’s a great opportunity to swim every stroke and get early-season feedback. The Head Coach will review all entries to ensure swimmers are entered in strokes for which they’re ready.
Please note: Pre-Team does not participate in Time Trials.
When It Happens:
Time Trials usually take place on the Saturday morning before the first A Meet. Make every effort to attend!
Make-Up Time Trials:
A make-up session is offered only for swimmers with valid conflicts—examples include SAT/ACT testing, illness, or a family emergency. Contact the coach to determine if a make up session is needed or if the swimmer should plan to get their first time of the season at the first B meet.
For all other situations, swimmers should plan to swim at the first B Meet to get their times.
Important Reminder:
Swimmers must be registered and membership dues must be paid in full to participate in Time Trials.
How to sign up for Time Trials:
Go to EVENTS, under Team Events tab and Current & Upcoming, click on the red button called ‘Edit Commitment’ under Time Trails to sign-up tour athletes for meet events.
