All-Stars, which take place the week after Divisionals are the MCSL’s recognition of individual swimmers and relay teams. Swimmers in these meets do not impact their teams standing or next year’s division placement, but should be congratulated on their outstanding achievement.

All-Star Relays take place on the Saturday after Divisionals.  The winning teams for each event from each division’s relay carnival in Divisions A – G, plus the next fastest relay in the top 7 divisions are seeded by time. The same is done for the divisions H – O, which swim after the first section.  The next fastest four times are alternates.  This means if a seeded team realizes that they will not have all their swimmers on that day, they will hopefully withdraw so the alternate teams know to be there to swim.

On that Sunday, the Individual All-Stars take the top 16 swimmers in each event from all teams and seed them by time.  A swimmer is allowed to swim in a maximum of two events so it is possible for someone who is not in the top 16 to get into All-Stars due to faster swimmers scratching out of extra events.
