Madison Dolphins Swim and Dive Team (MST)

We are a 40+ year old organization operating as a summer recreation league team under District II of the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA). Our practices and home meets are conducted at the Dublin Park facility located at 8324 Madison Pike, Madison, AL 35758-1121. Our organization was formed in 1980 to provide and improve competitive amateur swimming and diving in the Madison, Alabama community. The Madison Dolphins Swim and Dive Team encourages and promotes sportsmanship and strives to build healthy minds and bodies for the members of the team.

Welcome to Madison Dolphins Swim and Dive team. Thank you for coming to tryouts for the team.

Most of the information you will need can be found on the team website www.madisondolphins.org.

We will try and post the team roster on the website late Saturday/Sunday, once the coaches have managed to finalize the team. If your child has made the team please go ahead and register them before the parent meeting (details below). The link is on the front page of the website.

The fees are $200 for first child and $195 for each sibling thereafter that has made the team.

Other fees to expect during season

Medal meet entry fees will depend on the number of events your swimmer swims

Spectator fee for Districts $10 per athlete

There will be a mandatory parent meeting on 6th May at 6.00pm at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Sullivan Street, Madison. You will learn more about the team and buy team swimsuits, caps and t-shirts. You will also sign waivers and need to bring 2 copies of your swimmer/diver's birth certificate.

The team practices every morning Monday- Friday. The time will depend on your swimmer’s age and whether they are on team or development. The practice times will be posted on the website. Generally, it is 11 & over 0700-0830, 9-10 0830-0930, 8 & unders 0930-1020.

First practice will be Monday 12th May. The first two weeks practice will be after school. Starting Tuesday 27th May, morning practice starts.

Expectations:

Swimmers are expected to go to all meets, home and away.

Swimmers are expected to swim at the Medal Meet Sat 14^th June and at Districts Fri-Sat 11-12 July. Swimmers have to have been to at least 1 dual meets to swim at Districts and Districts is the only meet where they can qualify for State. Districts is being held at Madison this year so everyone is expected to attend. The State meet is being held at Albertville, Fri-Sat July 24-25.

Parents are expected to volunteer at the meets home and away. This year we will need everyone at the Medal meet and Districts. The meets cannot be run without the help of all the parents.
