One of our volunteer roles for LVST is to provide a supervised walking service between LVE aftercare programs (Recreation Reimagined and San Rafael Children’s Center) and the pool for Swim School and 8 and Under practice.

Speak with your program director if you are interested in your child participating and they will provide you with the necessary permission forms.

Children will need to change at aftercare rather than the pool, to facilitate a quick return to their programs and allow the walkers to get the other groups. It would be helpful to practice with your younger kids and make sure their suits aren’t so tight that they can’t get them on and off independently. Slip on shoes and a robe or a parka (or other coverup) are required to facilitate a quick and comfortable return to school.

Additionally, children will not be allowed to be signed out of aftercare and picked up at the pool. They will need to return to aftercare with the walker and can be signed out at that time. There will be no exceptions made to this policy.

For swimmers 9+, please sign a waiver with your aftercare program allowing your child to walk to and from practice on their own.
