Swim School Instructor Bios

Jada Swan - Lead Swim School Instructor and Assistant Coach

My name is Jada Swan and I am a current senior at Terra Linda High School. I am so excited to be teaching swim lessons as well as being an assistant coach this year! I have been on LVST since I was 5 years old making this my 14th and last year on the team. I  have been teaching swim lessons for the past 4 years independently, and was an assistant coach with my high school coach this past fall. I can’t wait to make this season full of fun and swimming, while getting to know all your kiddos and families!

Claire Cassidy - Instructor

Hi everyone! My name is Claire and I am a junior at Marin Catholic. I have been on Lucas Valley Swim Team for the past 14 years. I have been teaching swim lessons for the past 6 years and it is one of my favorite parts of summer.  I am the youngest of 4, all of whom were on Lucas Valley, and my dad grew up on the team as well! My favorite thing about swim team is the amazing community Lucas Valley has. I absolutely love being such good friends with everyone my age as well as people from every other age group!

Julia Hamilton - Instructor

My name is Julia Hamilton and I have been apart of the Lucas Valley Lighting Swim Team community for 12 years! Swimming has always been a huge part of my life, which is why I love teaching lessons so much. Being able to spend time with the team and meet all the new swimmers is something I look forward to every year. I have been teaching swim lessons ever since starting High School, and I am a current junior at Terra Linda High school. In addition to Lucas Valley, I also swim for my high school team as well as play waterpolo. I love to work hard, while also having fun with my friends in the pool! I can’t wait to see everyone on the pool deck this year! Go Lightning! 

David Finney - Instructor

Hi, I’m David and I’m a Junior at Terra Linda. I’ve been on the Lucas Valley Swim Team for about 10 years and have played waterpolo for the last 4. I’ve also been a lifeguard for the last 2 years.

Haley Brown - Instructor

I have been swimming with the Lightning since i was six years old and I currently am a sophomore at Terra Linda High school. My favorite thing about LVST is the community vibe and the people.

Simone Dayton - Instructor

Hi, I’m Simone, a freshman at TL. Although I’ve only been swimming competitively for a few years now, I love the team and the community that comes with it. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are cooking/baking, reading, spending time with friends, and playing soccer. I’m really excited to be a swim instructor this year!

Ave Schafer - Instructor

Hi, I'm Ave and in 8th grade at Miller Creek Middle School. I've been swimming for LVST since 2018 and I've taught swim school at Marinwood. I enjoyed teaching and am excited to teach for LVST. I hope the kids that I teach join the team and become apart of our Lightning community.
