Little Waves
Little Waves swimmers do not compete in Midlakes Swim League but there will be some exhibition event opportunites at Home "B" meets.
Little Waves are separated into two groups to keep swimmers in smaller groups while they learn the routines and strokes and achieve comfort in the pool.
Little Waves Group 1: (A-M), Group 2: (N-Z)
NOTE: Registered Little Waves swimmers must attend and pass a swimmer's assessment to participate.
Swimmer's Assessment Dates:
March 30, 2024: 2:00 - 3:30 pm (drop-in) at the Activity pool.
April 17, 2024: 5:00 - 6:00 pm (drop-in) at the Activity pool.
Assessment qualifications are detailed in the Summer Swim Team Handbook
- Ages 5 yrs+ or entering Kindergarten
- Swimmers must attend a try-out and successfully demonstrate the ability to independently and safely, in order to be eligible for participation.
- Swimmers must demonstrate the ability to independently and safely,
- Swim 25m freestyle without stopping (1) length of the pool and form is at least close
- Demonstrate knowledge of survival swimming (chicken airplane soldier) with form being at least close
- Demonstrate front and back floats
- Is an attentive and focused listener
- Exhibits a positive attitude and is encouraging of others
