HEAD COACH - Kenzie Schrom
Hi everyone! My name is Mackenzie Schrom and I am very excited to be your head coach for this summer. I am going into my junior year of college at Florida Gulf Coast University. There I am studying early childhood education with a minor in Spanish, to hopefully one day become a preschool teacher. I started swimming at the age of 5 on the Woodridge Sea Lions and swam until I was 18. In total I swam for 5 swim teams during my career including the Woodridge Sea Lions, Maverick Swim Club, Butterfield Park District, Wheaton Swim Club, and Naperville Central High School. I have been coaching and teaching swim lessons for 6 years now and I love it! Over the past two years, I have been coaching in Florida with the Gulf Coast Swim Team. Prior to that, I gained valuable experience coaching in Illinois with the Naperville Swim Conference, on Steeple Run, and the DuPage Swim and Dive Conference. As a USA Certified Swim Coach, I have guided competitive swimmers through meets, designed effective training plans in collaboration with other coaches, and supported athletes at all levels. Swimming has been a lifelong passion, and I am committed to helping others not only improve their skills but also develop qualities such as teamwork, discipline, and a genuine love for the sport. I cannot wait to have an amazing summer with you!
ASSISTANT COACH - Andrew Schmidt
Hi guys, I’m glad to be your new assistant coach this summer. I’m an NCAA Division II athlete finishing my freshman year down in Florida at Lynn University. I’m newer to coaching, but I’m far from lacking experience. I’ve been swimming competitively for over thirteen years now. I originally started competitive swimming with the Oswego Otters and joined Academy Bullets. After only a year, I moved to Delta where spent eight summers learning and training. I swam all four years at Neuqua Valley, training with some of the best in the state. I moved to Fox Valley sophomore year and swam with them until college. This year, I’ve swum for an NCAA Division II school in the Sunshine State Conference which is the most competitive conference in the division. I hope to use all these years of experience to help all of you reach your full potential. I can’t wait to see all you soon. Go Raptors!
