The coaches wanted me to pass on what a great job the team did getting to their races at Apples and Bananas! At Springdale on Tuesday please have your swimmer stay in the team area (generally by the slide at the Springdale pool) so they can gather the younger swimmers for their races. We have two meets this week, and Thursday has an early arrival time due to the team picture. Please wear this year’s team shirt for the picture. If you do not have the shirt, you can wear your swimsuit (no other t-shirts).

Now is also a good time to block off your work schedule for July 14 and 15 for Championships. Dual meets are in the evenings, but Championships starts in the morning, and you’ll not want to miss it!

Thursday, June 12: Home meet vs. St. Bernard and team picture

Arrival: 4:30

Picture: 4:45 (wear this year’s team shirt or your swimsuit)

By June 13: Senior parents – send 23-25 pictures to Carolyn Carmody ([email protected]) for senior night.

Sunday, June 15: Sign out deadline for Sharonville meet

Private Lessons: Sign up for private lessons with the coaches to work on those skills! Signup sheet is linked on the website. Lessons are $15 for a 30 minute lesson. Lessons for 6 and under swimmers are 15 minutes long, so you’ll get 2 lessons for your $15. Pay at the Rec Center desk, and bring your receipt to the coach at your lesson.

11:15-11:45 – 6 and under (starting June 5)

Hershey First Lappers: The tradition of “Hershey First Lappers” will continue this year for our 8 & under swimmers completing their first lap. For those new to the team, a Hershey bar is awarded to young swimmers completing their first lap, at the discretion of the coach.

Childcare for HOME Swim Meets: Childcare is available for your young non-swimmers during home meets. You must pre-register for this service at least 2 days prior to the meet. If you sign-up and do not show, you will be charged. Parents can purchase punch cards at the front desk or online. There is a 2-hour time limit that is the state law and must be followed.

Activity Sheet Sign-Up Form: The activity form will again be used to sign up for the pizza party, the Senior Night ice cream social, the pre-championships party, the post-championships party, and the 13 & up canoe trip. New this year, the form can be completed on-line or dropped in in the box at the pool. If using the paper form, the form and fees (checks made payable to Evendale Swim Team) should be turned in via the pool drop box (not to the Rec center front desk). ***If at all possible, please complete the form for the entire season with payment.*** This makes bookkeeping for the season more manageable.

Volunteer Requirements: THANK YOU to everyone that has signed up! Your child will not be allowed to swim in meets until you have signed up to volunteer. Remember that each family is required to volunteer for 2-3 meets and 1 activity, unless your OLDEST child is a 6 and under; then the requirement is 1 meet job and 1 activity. Championship jobs will also need to be filled at a later date.

Meet Sign-Outs: The coaches will assume your swimmers will be swimming in a meet unless you say otherwise. The coaches do meet line ups up to two days prior to a meet so if you do not change the committed status on the website and your swimmers do not show up; it can cause problems, especially when it comes to relays. Of course, some situations cannot be avoided or planned. If this happens and you are within that 2-day window prior to a meet, please text Coach Debbie at 513-379-0683 as soon as possible and she will remove your children from the meet. Here are the steps to signing your swimmers out of a meet:

On Evendale Eagles’ website, click “Eagles Events”, and find the meet in which you wish to sign out.
Click on “Attend/Decline”
Under “Member Name” find and click on your swimmer’s name
There is a drop box under “Declaration”, select “no”
Click on “save changes”
Repeat for each swimmer if you have more than one

Meet Schedule: Generally speaking, all meets begin at either 6:00, 6:15, or 6:30, depending on the size of teams. Warmups start 30 minutes to an hour before the meet. There could be a slight change in start times / warmup times which will be communicated in each Monday morning newsletter for the meets that week.

June 5 – Apples and Bananas 6:00 with pizza party to follow

June 10 – @ Springdale

June 12 – Home vs. St. Bernard. Team picture will be taken at this meet so arrival time will be early

June 17 – Home vs. Sharonville

June 19 – Home vs. Wyoming

June 26 – @ Greenhills

July 1 – Home vs. Blue Ash. Senior Night and Ice Cream Social

July 8 – @ Norwood

July 14 and 15– Championships at Norwood (must swim in 2 meets to qualify)
