Swim Team New Parent Info Sheet
In lieu of a pre-season meeting, we have put together this info sheet for new swim team parents. If you have any further questions, please reach out to Coach Debbie or Kristen Maiden in the Evendale Rec Department. Private Lessons- coaches offering private lessons, will upload their schedules on Eagles swim team site. Register for lessons online. Parents pay for lessons at the rec. center (you’ll be given a green payment card to give to coach) or Evendale Rec. online (please show coach your receipt.)
Swim Practices:
Swim team practices every day except for Memorial Day and July 4th, including meet days. There is an extra practice on the Saturday morning before championships.
After-school practices run May 19 – 30. 6 & Under age group will not start until June 5.
New swimmers will have swim assessments on June 3 & 4 from11:15 AM- 11:45 AM. Swimmers should be able to push off the wall and swim to the first set of overhead flags.

Coaches would love to see your child at all practices, but if something comes up and you cannot attend, just let the coaches know.
Activity Form:
Activity Form showing all extra special activities, will be made available to all families.

Newsletter: every week, newsletter will be emailed to all parents with any updates and what to expect for the coming week.
Volunteering: Jobs will be made available on May 12 on the Evendale Eagles website. First come, first serve basis. All parents must volunteer for at least 2- 3meets and 2 activities. If your child is 6 & Under, you only need to sign up for one meet and one activity.
Childcare if offered for home swim meets. You can pay online or at the front desk. State guidelines mandate maximum 2 hours in childcare room for the day. Please plan accordingly. Sign-up sheets are on the door of childcare room.
Inclement Weather Plan: Practices: staff will update social media if practices are cancelled. Meets: in event of bad weather, swimmers may move to the Recreation South Gym if only delayed for 30 minutes or until told it is safe to return.
Suit Ordering: Once parent is enrolled on Evendale Eagles website, parents will be emailed a digital order form by Swimville in Kenwood. Swimmers are not required to have a logo swim suit. Navy is the color or any suit will do.
Meets:
Apples & Bananas is a fun inter-squad practice meet the TH before the season starts. Swimmers are assigned to be on the Apples Team or the Bananas Team. It’s a fun walk-thru for all involved.
Parents, please make sure your swimmer can be at all the meets. If not, the coaches ask that you please sign your swimmer OUT of meets that they are not available to swim. You can do so on the Eagles website. ***It’s important to do several days prior to the meet. Coaches do line-ups for Tuesday on Monday and Thursday on Wednesday.
Championships:
Swimmers are required to have been in 2 meets to qualify.
