This week brings meets with two large teams. Please be patient and remember to make our guests feel welcome with great sportsmanship! As we are already to mid-June, now is a great time to sign up for private lessons with the coaches to work on skills one-on-one.

Friday, June 20: Sign up deadline for 13 and up canoe trip
Private Lessons: Sign up for private lessons with the coaches to work on those skills! Signup sheet is linked on the website. Lessons are $15 for a 30 minute lesson. Lessons for 6 and under swimmers are 15 minutes long, so you’ll get 2 lessons for your $15. Pay at the Rec Center desk, and bring your receipt to the coach giving the lesson.
Canoe trip: The canoe trip is Friday, June 27 for swimmers in the 13-14 and 15 and over age groups. Thank you to Angela Guye for organizing. More information to come, and please sign up and pay by this Friday, June 20. Everyone should bring a snack or drinks to share. We will leave as soon as the coaches have finished with practices for the day, and we generally get back to the pool by 5:00 where we’ll order pizza.

Ribbon Writing Volunteers:
This season, the ribbon writing job is going to be completed the morning after each meet. If you volunteered to help, you will receive a text message with further details. Please reach out to Corinne Kearns (513) 400-8837 or Nicole Morand (513)218-5827 if you need anything or have questions.
Ribbon Pick Up:
Ribbons will be put out only on Mondays during practice for children to grab. If you won’t be there Monday and your kid cannot wait until the following Monday, just contact Corinne Kearns or Nicole Morand and we can help you.

Hershey First Lappers: The tradition of “Hershey First Lappers” will continue this year for our 8 & under swimmers completing their first lap. For those new to the team, a Hershey bar is awarded to young swimmers completing their first lap, at the discretion of the coach.
Childcare for HOME Swim Meets: Childcare is available for your young non-swimmers during home meets. You must pre-register for this service at least 2 days prior to the meet. If you sign-up and do not show, you will be charged. Parents can purchase punch cards at the front desk or online. There is a 2-hour time limit that is the state law and must be followed.

Volunteer Requirements: THANK YOU to everyone that has signed up! Your child will not be allowed to swim in meets until you have signed up to volunteer. Remember that each family is required to volunteer for 2-3 meets and 1 activity, unless your OLDEST child is a 6 and under; then the requirement is 1 meet job and 1 activity. Championship jobs will also need to be filled at a later date.
Meet Sign-Outs: The coaches will assume your swimmers will be swimming in a meet unless you say otherwise. The coaches do meet line ups up to two days prior to a meet so if you do not change the committed status on the website and your swimmers do not show up; it can cause problems, especially when it comes to relays. Of course, some situations cannot be avoided or planned. If this happens and you are within that 2-day window prior to a meet, please text Coach Debbie at 513-379-0683 as soon as possible and she will remove your children from the meet. Here are the steps to signing your swimmers out of a meet:
- On Evendale Eagles’ website, click “Eagles Events”, and find the meet in which you wish to sign out.
- Click on “Attend/Decline”
- Under “Member Name” find and click on your swimmer’s name
- There is a drop box under “Declaration”, select “no”
- Click on “save changes”
- Repeat for each swimmer if you have more than one
Meet Schedule: Generally speaking, all meets begin at either 6:00, 6:15, or 6:30, depending on the size of teams. Warmups start 30 minutes to an hour before the meet. There could be a slight change in start times / warmup times which will be communicated in each Monday morning newsletter for the meets that week.
