FAQs about Scoring and Meet Results
When will I get meet results?
There are 3 ways to get Meet results.
1) OnDeck App
2) Barracuda's TeamUnify Webpage
3) MeetMobile App [FreeTier or w/ Paid subscription]
Each method offers different Pros and Cons that are discussed later.
Why is the overall placement of swimmers not accurate?
The results will list the swimmers in heat one first, as heat one is the only heat that scores per Naperville Swim Conference rules. Below heat one swimmer's times, you will see all swimmers listed in order of time. Disqualification-DQs are listed last or blank. As a result, your child's overall placement on the app or website might be off.
Is there a simple breakdown of what place I should look for results based on when?
The following table should be helpful in understanding where to look when trying to find accurate swim information.
| What you are trying to do/find? | When | App to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Declare swimmer to a meet | 7+ days before meet | On Deck or Team Website (Or through generated email to your email address) |
| View what events the coach put your swimmer(s) in. | ~1-2 days before meet | On Deck or Team Website |
| View the Preliminary Heat Sheets | Evening before meet | Meet Mobile (Free Tier) or Team Website Note: We will often (but NOT always) post a copy of the preliminary heat sheet on social media and under the "Event" on the Team website. |
| View the Final Heat sheet | At start of meet Note: Final scratches are being processed in 30 minutes before start of meet that effect heat and lane assignments. |
Meet Mobile (Free Tier) |
| View live Swimmer times | During Meet | Meet Mobile (Paid Tier) Note: For HOME MEETS, Meet Mobile will never adjust displayed times from 20 yard pool to 25 yard pool). User must multiply times on Meet Mobile by 1.3x to obtain 25 yard converted swim time. Note: For AWAY MEETS, Meet Mobile will display accurate swim times for your swimmer. |
| View Final Swimmer Times for meet | After meet (between 4 and 48 hours after meet completion) | OnDeck or Team Website Note: While Meet Mobile (Paid Tier) times are present and updated after the meet, the HOME/AWAY notes in above cell still apply. |

Using MeetMobile
Meet Mobile offers a Free Tier and Paid tier of the app.
Meet Mobile allows parents to:

2) Estimated meet timeline and updates on completed races.
3) Get live race results. (Note: Times are NOT converted for Huntington hosted meets, see below) [Must have paid subscription]
4) Get live team scores. [Must have paid subscription]
Meet Mobile does NOT allow parents to:
1) (Huntington hosted meets only) Get 25 yard convered swim times for meets swam at Huntington Pool
2) (Huntington hosted meets only) Get FINAL swim results
Parents can download the MeetMobile app from their App Store of choice.
More info can be found here: Meet Mobile App | Swim Meet App | ACTIVE
MeetMobile can be downloaded for free and offers free heat sheets access through the app. This will allow you to find out what Events/Heats/Lanes your swimmer is assigned to and is kept up to date on the day of the meet. The app also updates event progress throughout the meet when an even has been scored by the Computer team (usually delayed from actual meet by the time it takes to process the times).
If you are interested, MeetMobile also allows you to upgrade to a paid version of the app. This will allow you to get realtime (unofficial) race results as soon as the race times have been pulled into the scoring system from the dolphin timers. Keep in mind that the realtime race results may not be accurate until the Event has been verified and closed out by the Scoring Team at the event.
Note: Meet Mobile paid subscriptions seem to be tied to the specific google pay or apple pay account. In cases where you are switching between Android and Apple phones, you may have to repurchase the app. If this is a problem for you, you will have to take it up with Active.com.
Special Instructions for Huntington Pool Hosted Meets ONLY
The Huntington Pool is a 20 yard pool. When processing meet results at our pool, our scoring team applies a conversion factor to the swim time to align that time with what would be swam in a 25 yard pool. MeetManager allows this conversion factor to be applied to the swim results only. Correct 25 yard times will only be displayed in results reports, Ribbon stickers, OnDeck and results uploaded to TeamUnify.
MeetMobile times for meets held at Huntington Pool reflect a 20 yard pool length. MeetMobile does NOT display converted times during or after the event.
If you have purchased the ability to get live swim times through MeetMobile you must multiply that time by 1.3x to reflect the unofficial 25 yard time of your swimmer. As of right now times swam at Huntington Pool, displayed on MeetMobile, will always reflect the 20 yard pool length time.
For FINAL results that reflect a converted 25 yard swim time, parents can either visit the Huntington Barracudas website or use the OnDeck app.
Other Results Information
Results/ Overall Placement: The results in the app will list the swimmers in heat one first, as heat one is the only heat that scores per Naperville Swim Conference rules. Below heat one swimmers times, you will see all swimmers listed in order of time on the app. Disqualification-DQs are listed last on the app. As a result, your child's overall placement on the app or on the Team Unify might be off.
Seed Time: Seed time is your best time in that race and the computer will place the swimmers in heats based on their seed time. In the beginning of a season we have a lot of no times (NT), at which the computer randomly places swimmers into heats. When you age up, it will not use a seed time from your previous age group. Finally, a seed time gets locked in when the coach does the line-up. A coach might lock in a line-up as far as a week in advance (dual meet) or 2 weeks in advance (girl/boy invite). So, it takes a few meets for seed times to catch up.
Ribbons: Ribbons are given out for dual meets by heat, not overall placement. Your child will get their ribbons at practice and it is then that you can see what place they got in their heat. This system allows us to celebrate all swimmers, despite their overall placement in their age group. (As of 2017, no ribbons for dual meets for ages 13+). Swim Times on Ribbons will reflect 25 yard swim times when swam at Huntington Pool.
