TOMORROW is MVP Swim Team’s Fundraiser at Nation’s in Orinda. Why cook at home when you can enjoy three meals at Nation’s? Dine anytime from 6:00am-11:00pm and 20% of sales will be donated when you mention “Moraga Valley Pool Swim Team” BEFORE you order. Make it a party and invite fellow age group swimmers/families to dine together! Order a pie and surprise a neighbor! This only applies to the Orinda location and you must mention “Moraga Valley Pool Swim Team'' to receive fundraising credit. UPCOMING SWIM MEETS ~ 2 REGISTRATION DEADLINES THIS WEEK
Reminder - no swim meet on Wednesday, our next meet is on Saturday.
Registration deadline for MVP @ Miramonte is Wednesday June 19. The meet is this Saturday June 22 at Miramonte High School. Arrival time is 8:00am and meet start time is 9:00am. More details to come later this week.
Registration deadline for the 62nd annual Orinda Park Pool (OPP) Relays meet @ OPP is Wednesday June 19. The meet is Saturday June 29 at OPP. This FUN annual swimming event brings together the top 6 ranking OMPA teams from the previous season with OPP to compete against each other in swim events that emphasize teamwork and team spirit. The highlights are the parent, family, and coaches relays. Who will represent MVP this year?? More details to come.
SWIM TEAM LESSONS ~ OPEN TOMORROW FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 24
Mark your calendars - Swim team lesson sign ups open TOMORROW Tuesday June 18 at 8pm for lessons the week of June 24. With a few meets under our belts, this is a great opportunity for swimmers to fine tune their strokes and receive individualized attention from an MVP coach. Coaches offer optional 20-minute private lessons for swim team members and Mini Marlins. The coach and the swimmer focus on technique, or comfort/confidence for the younger swimmers. BOTTOMS UP VOLUNTEERING FOR SWIMMERS AGES 8, 10, AND 12 ~ JUNE 30
Calling ALL swimmers ages 8, 10, and 12! Come help run MVP's beloved Bottoms Up Invitational. Get a behind the scenes look at how a swim meet us run - help sticker ribbons, sell items at the snack shack, and pass out heat winner ribbons and water for timers during the meet. SIGN UP HERE TO VOLUNTEER.
MVP’s LAP-A-THON FUNDRAISER ~ MONDAY JUNE 24
MVP Swim Team’s annual Lap-a-Thon will take place on Monday June 24 during your swimmer's regular practice time. Did you receive your swimmer’s fundraising page via email from 99Pledges? It only takes a few minutes to set up and email to family and friends. The suggested goal per swimmer is $100. There will be prizes for top fundraisers and top lap swimmers in each age group. Every swimmer will get a post lap-a-thon treat! This is a fun MVP tradition and swimmers always feel proud of their accomplishments.
Parents, we need your help counting laps! Come count laps during your swimmer’s practice time. Be amazed at how many laps our Marlins can swim, it’s always an impressive sight to see. Please consider signing up here to help make this day a success for MVP.
Coffee with the Coaches @ Lap-A-Thon. Have a question for the coaches? Want to check-in with a coach on how your swimmer is doing during practice or swim meets? Sign up for a lap counting shift and then stay for a cup of coffee and a quick chat with a coach.
OMPA PROGRAM ADS ~ DUE JULY 3
A message from OMPA Volunteer Coordinator Kristen Brunson:
It’s that time to start thinking about supporting your swimmer with an ad in the printed OMPA program. Feel free to use one of the photos you just took on Picture Day (the photographer shared that your gallery will be live in about a week) or any photos you have taken of your swimmer(s). We encourage you to participate in this opportunity as swimmers LOVE seeing uplifting notes from parents and friends in the program. It is also a wonderful way to spotlight your business with thousands of folks in the community viewing these booklets. Let’s support our awesome team and show that Marlin spirit!

Advertising rates are: $170 for a full page; $95 for a half page; $55 for a quarter page; and $40 for a business card.
ORINDA 4TH OF JULY PARADE AND AFTER PARTY AT MVP ~ JULY 4
Join your MVP friends for a fun 4th of July celebration! MVP will be participating in the Orinda 4th of July parade this year so don your MVP spirit wear, decorate your bike, scooter, stroller, or wagon and show your Marlin pride (decorating party at MVP on July 3). Reserve your spot in the parade here.
After the parade we will head to MVP for an afternoon of family fun, food, and games for all ages including pool relay races, water balloon toss, and other festive games. Top Dog will be onsite selling food for purchase. Hope to see you there!
