MVP Swim Team
Our swim team program includes the MVP Marlins—our spirited, competitive team—and the Mini Marlins, a pre-swim team designed to build skills and confidence. Whether your child is ready to race or just getting started, there’s a lane for everyone to have fun in the water!
The MVP Swim Team is a fun, supportive way for kids to grow as swimmers while making friends and building team spirit. We offer two programs: the MVP Marlins (ages 5–18) for competitive swimmers, and the Mini Marlins (ages 3–6) for little ones just starting out.
Led by longtime Head Coach Trevor Rose, our experienced staff makes it easy for swimmers of all levels to jump in, improve quickly, and have a blast. From optional Spring and Fall Clinics to exciting summer meets, there’s something for everyone.

Swim Team Participation Requirements
Overview:
Summer swim team registration will open Monday February 2nd and includes an In School swim season and an Out of School swim season.
The “In School” swim season officially begins April 20th and continues through May 27th. This is a great opportunity for swimmers to build their strength and skill set. The “Out of School” swim season begins June 1st. This is when we start competing in dual meets and invitationals. The OMPA league championship, July 31st- August 2nd, will conclude our season.
Club Membership Dues:
Participation on the Moraga Valley swim team is contingent upon payment of annual dues for the Moraga Valley Swim and Tennis Club. Failure to pay family dues on time may jeopardize your child's involvement in the swim team, including participation in private lessons, clinics, and/or swim meets.
8&Under Evaluation (Mandatory for some):
New 8&Under swimmers, participants in Mini Marlins during the 2025 season, and/or those who did not compete in a swim meet in 2025 must complete a mandatory 8&Under evaluation before registering for the team. This evaluation is scheduled for March 1st at MVP. Sign up genius link is here. Failure to attend this evaluation prior to registration may result in a change fee.
Registration and Payment Policy:
Swim Team dues, covering the entire season from April 20th to July 30th, must be paid in full at the time of registration.
For security and compliance, all payments must be processed exclusively through the official Swim Team website. MVP staff are strictly prohibited from accepting personal forms of payment, including cash or checks.
Please note: Only participants listed on the official registration list will be permitted to take part in swim practices, swim meet and team activities. Attendance is strictly verified at the start of every season, and no exceptions will be made.
Volunteer Work Commitment:
All work commitment sign-ups must be completed between April 24th and April 26th. Any family that has not signed up for the required work commitment points (per the work commitment policy) by April 26th will have the appropriate number of work shifts assigned by the volunteer coordinator.
Swim Team Fees:
$595 per swimmer in the 3-14 age group
$250 per swimmer in the 15-18 age group
$595 per swimmer for exemption swimmers ~ limited to 17/18 year olds who get approval to swim after their families sell their membership
Registration before May 1st will include a team shirt
A 15% discount off the $595 registration fee will be applied to the third and fourth swimmer within the same family.
